The great Chicago fire of 1871.
Said to be so hot it turned beach sand to glass. Glass is formed around 1500*C.
The images of burned stone buildings are similar to that of Hiroshima.
Since fire doesn’t tend to burn stone is it possible that the city was bombed with fire destroying what was left?

Incisioni in formato XIX-XX secolo. Qui ci sono edifici e Giganti incredibili, le loro altezze e maestà; anche in epoche passate, tali appelli alla classe dominante non erano usati per niente...

🇦🇺 We can talk a lot about the futurism of future cities, but it is obvious that such architecture was already in our cell

19th-20th century engravings. Here are incredible buildings and giants, their heights and majesty; even in past eras, such appeals to the ruling class were not used at all

In the French wine-growing regions, church-bells were traditionally rung in the face of oncoming storms and later replaced by cannons.
