🇪🇸 Mary Smith, la aldaba más querida del East End de Londres
En esa zona se contrataba a aldabas para despertar a los trabajadores que dormían profundamente para que no faltaran al trabajo.
Estos apuntaban la hora en la ventana y se los despertaba aporreando la puerta o ventana.
Mary Smith disparaba guisantes secos a través de un tubito, lo que permitía despertar a sus clientes sin molestar a sus vecinos, lo que la convirtió en una figura querida en los años 20.
🇬🇧 Mary Smith, the most beloved knocker in London East End
In that area, knockers were hired to wake up workers who were sleeping soundly so that they would not miss work.
They wrote down the time on the window and were woken up by banging on the door or window.
Mary Smith shot dried peas through a little tube, allowing her customers to wake up without disturbing her neighbors, which made her a beloved figure in the 1920s.
