🇬🇧 The eerie ruins of the ancient Euphrates city

Between 1977 and 1983, the Soviet Union built a hydroelectric power plant on the Euphrates River. As a result, the portion of the Euphrates River upstream of the dam turned into a lake.

Since 2021, the reservoir has begun to dry up, and after the water receded, the remains of the ancient city of Euphrates were discovered.

The photos show the flattening process, and the video features interesting sounds recorded near the ruins (you better not listen if you are about to go to sleep).
