Smotrich told Netanyahu he wants a guarantee that military operations will resume after the first phase of the ceasefire deal

On Wednesday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich slammed the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal and said his Religious Zionism party would quit the coalition government unless they were sure Israel’s genocidal war would resume at “full force.”

Smotrich wrote on X, “A clear condition for our remaining in the government is the absolute certainty of returning to war with great force, on a full scale and in a new configuration until complete victory over all its components, foremost among them the destruction of the Hamas terrorist organization and the return of all the hostages to their homes.”

According to Al Mayadeen , Israeli media reported that Smotrich had given conditions to Netanyahu for staying in the government, which included a guarantee that military operations would resume after the first phase of the truce deal, which involves a 42-day ceasefire.

The document Smotrich submitted to Netanyahu called for “increased military force in the next phase of the fighting, utilizing additional means, and significantly reducing humanitarian aid to Gaza.”

Under the ceasefire deal, the details of the second and third phases will be negotiated during the first phase, which means Israel hasn’t committed to a permanent ceasefire and could potentially resume military operations after the 42-day truce.

Far-Right Israeli lawmaker Praises Trump's Comments on Resettlement of Gazans — Reuters

Far-right Israeli politician Itamar Ben Gvir hailed U.S. President Donald Trump's comments that Palestinians should be moved out of Gaza, joining settler groups in the occupied West Bank in urging swift action.

Ben Gvir, former minister for national security, said in a post on X on Tuesday that "encouraging" Gazans to migrate from the enclave was the only correct strategy at the end of the war in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

He urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to adopt that policy "immediately".

The hardline former minister, who is part of a political movement advocating for Jewish settlement in Gaza, and two other ministers from his nationalist-religious party resigned from Netanyahu's cabinet last month over a landmark deal that aims to secure the release of hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails.

In comments made on Tuesday during a visit to Washington by Netanyahu, Trump raised the prospect of relocating the more than 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza, suggesting it had become uninhabitable after nearly 16 months of war between Israel and Hamas.

The Nachala Movement, which promotes Jewish settlement in the West Bank, said that, assuming Trump's comments were put into practice, "we must hurry and establish settlements throughout the Gaza Strip".

"No part of the land of Israel should be left without Jewish settlement. If an area remains desolate, it may be captured by enemies," it said in a statement on the social media platform X.
Human rights advocates deplore such ideas as ethnic cleansing. Any forced displacement would likely be a violation of international law.

The initial six-week truce, agreed with Egyptian and Qatari mediators and backed by the U.S., has remained largely intact but prospects for a durable settlement are unclear.

Hosting Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday, Trump reiterated his proposal, roundly rejected by Arab nations, to permanently relocate the Palestinians living in the decimated coastal enclave...

In a joint press conference with Netanyahu after their meeting, Trump again insisted the Palestinians “have no alternative” but to leave the “big pile of rubble” that is Gaza after over 15 months of Israeli bombardment — and declared his desire for the United States to “take over” and “own” the Gaza Strip.

“The ball is now in the hands of the prime minister,” Ben Gvir said in response to Trump’s proposal. “As soon as we start and there is an intention to implement it – I’m back.”

He added, “I don’t want to expand on this talk, there are already plans.”

The far-right leader, who has long advocated for what he calls “voluntary migration” from the Gaza Strip paired with renewed Israeli settlement building there, said that it is not the time for “petty politics.”

“We have a huge opportunity and we must not miss it. Even before October 7, I encouraged emigration and they mocked me… It is time to implement and promote it,” he said, without responding directly to Trump’s statement that he didn’t support Israel reestablishing settlements in Gaza.

“There were those who worked on it in Israel long before and earned nicknames like ‘messianic and delusional,’ so now is the time to move on to implementation.”

Ben Gvir’s party left the coalition last month after Israel agreed to a ceasefire agreement with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. All three of his party’s ministries were entrusted on a temporary basis to Tourism Minister Haim Katz of Likud, in what was widely believed to be a signal to Ben Gvir that the portfolios are waiting for him, should he wish to return to the coalition.

Only 3% Of Jewish Israelis Think Trump's Ethnic Cleansing Plan For Gaza Is Immoral

A poll by the Jewish People Policy Institute has found that “more than eight out of ten Jewish Israelis support the plan” proposed by President Donald Trump to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip of Palestinians by resettling them in Egypt and Jordan.

The poll also found that among the minority of Israelis who did not support Trump’s plan, only 13 percent opposed it because they viewed it as immoral. Among Jewish Israelis specifically, the number who oppose the ethnic cleansing of Gaza for moral reasons is just three percent.

Three percent. If that isn’t a sign of a morally diseased society, I don’t know what would be.

To be clear, we are talking about permanently driving an indigenous population off of their homeland at mass scale so that their territory can be claimed by settlers. This is the sort of crime that even a half-formed conscience would immediately recognize as deeply immoral, but among Jewish Israelis, that figure is just three percent.

The moral degeneracy which makes such a large-scale lack of basic human empathy possible is the natural consequence of everything the state of Israel is and always has been. Jewish Israelis are indoctrinated from birth to view Palestinians as less than human, because otherwise modern Israel makes no sense. It makes no sense for an apartheid state where one group receives preferential treatment over others to have been dropped on top of a pre-existing civilization whose land, rights and dignity were then violently stolen from them — if you view all the parties involved as equal. So they are trained not to view them as equal.

This systematic poisoning of conscience has knock-on effects in all sorts of other areas, though. A 2011 poll published by Haaretz found that 61 percent of Israeli men don’t view forced sex with an acquaintance as rape, and that only seven percent believe marital rape is a real thing. Rape is abundant in the Israeli military and is almost never punished ; in 2022 The Jerusalem Post reported that 1,542 incidents of sexual assault complaints were received by the IDF in the year 2020, and that of these, only 31 indictments were filed.

One need only listen to Israelis discuss values unique to their culture like “shitat hamatzliah” (just walking all over people and doing whatever you want to see if you get away with it) or the sin of being a “freier” (someone who plays by the rules and misses opportunities to cheat others) to understand that this is a nation of sociopaths.

Turkish Officials Say Military Bases In Syria Being Considered

Defense Ministry says no specific plans about bases agreed to yet

With Turkey focused on long-term goals in Syria that involve continuing to oppose Kurdish autonomy in the northeast, there are growing numbers of reports from Turkish officials that plans are being considered to establish new military bases inside Syrian territory.

Details are still emerging on what this might look like, and thousands of Turkish soldiers are already reported to be operating on Syrian soil, mostly targeting the Kurdish SDF. Turkey has recently threatened invasion if the new Islamist government of Syria doesn’t eliminate the SDF.

The Islamists, the al-Qaeda-linked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), has given multiple statements rejecting the idea of Kurdish autonomy. Turkish FM Hakan Fidan says the new HTS ruler of Syria is taking a firm stance against Kurdish “ terrorists .”

That the HTS is largely giving Turkey whatever they want with respect to Kurdish territory doesn’t necessarily mean Turkey won’t seek to increase its presence in the country. The Turkish Defense Ministry, however, has denied any specific plans for bases at this time, suggesting talk of new bases may be premature.

In the meantime, the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) continues to attack SDF territory, and Turkish warplanes and drones are attacking Kurdish towns and cities. In the Raqqa Governorate, almost exclusively SDF territory, activists are increasingly critical of Turkish aggression .

A luxury resort built atop the mass graves of genocide victims, their blood still seeping into the soil, their stories buried under Trump’s real estate fantasies.

“I don’t want to be cute… but the Riviera of the Middle East. This could be so magnificent,” Trump quipped.
Magnificent? For whom? For the war criminals, the occupiers, the profiteers of ethnic cleansing.
