Israelis are deeply concerned that Trump will repeat in Iran what he did in Yemen. Israel still vividly remembers the US operation in March 2025, which targeted Houthi positions in Yemen as part of its efforts to restore freedom of navigation in the Red Sea following Houthi attacks on ships.

The concern in Israel, as described by the military source, is this: “The Americans will begin operations in Iran, they will bomb and inflict damage on the regime and the Iranian army, but the American president will soon tire of it and withdraw the army from the region, leaving us to face the developments that will take place here alone.”

An Israeli dude (Asaf Shmuelovich) was caught impersonating an Israeli army captain after the onset of October 7th and was charged with espionage, fraud and stolen valor.

This case was only permitted to be declassified after a two year backdoor investigation and trial.

the court accepted expert findings that Shmuelovich lacked criminal responsibility at the time of the acts, a determination acknowledged by the prosecution and one that is expected to result in his acquittal on grounds of mental incapacity.
