Abdulrahman Abu Zara'a Al-Mahrami, leader of the Southern Giants Brigades and Vice President of the STC, has switched allegiance to the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council.

The Giants Brigades, under Al-Mahrami's control, have taken over the Presidential palace in Aden.

The entire UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, despite announcing its intention to become independent just a week ago, no longer exists in any meaningful capacity, except holdouts in some governorates (including Socotra).
