Approximately two years ago, 34% of Democrats sympathized with Israel and 31% with Palestinians. Now, Democrats across the United States overwhelmingly side with Palestinians, at 54%, while only 13% express greater empathy for Israel.

In 2023, Democratic voters ages 45 and up sympathized with Israel over Palestinians 2-to-1. That is now reversed, with 42% saying they sympathize more with Palestinians, compared with 17% who feel more sympathetic toward Israel.

Even among Republicans, support for Israel has dropped by 12 percentage points since 2023.

About 33% of Republicans said Israel’s military was not taking enough action to prevent civilian deaths.

The poll was conducted between Septepmber 22 to 27, 2025.

With each new poll, support for Israel among the American public sinks to new lows.
