I had a chat with a young NB and apropos to nothing they started talking about Lesbian Space Princess. As a public service, I'm coming in to say that I watched it with my partners and I'm currently obsessed with it. It's beyond queer rep, it's queer media, and it brings to mind Centaurworld's absurd delivery of deep themes and Sylvan Migdal's Curvy (nsfw link)
It's an enjoyable animated indie movie with cute art and a wholly original soundtrack.. I won't spoil it, but the thesis of the film focuses on how queer safe spaces can be isolating and toxic, and how a sanitized cultural bubble teaches self-policing that overconstrains exploration into identity and harms self-esteem.
It's no small wonder someone within a queertok filter bubble would think nobody likes it at all.
