Fifty years ago, Hafez al Assad led Syria through one of the most defining moments in Arab history the October Liberation War. Under his command, Syrian forces broke through Zionist defenses on the occupied Golan, proving that courage and strategy could humble even the most arrogant occupier. That era was marked by honor, sacrifice, and unity.. A Syria that stood proudly beside Palestine, not trembling beneath Israel.
Today, by contrast, Syria’s occupied by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani a man who never fought a liberation war, only a war against Syrians themselves. By “presidential decree,” this Zionist approved puppet has now canceled both Teacher’s Day and the anniversary of the October War, erasing the very symbols of Syrian pride and Arab resistance.
Hafez al-Assad built a state that stood on education, sovereignty, and defiance. Al-Jolani builds prisons, collaborates with occupiers, and answers to foreign handlers. Hafez united a nation to face Israel.
Jolani divides it to serve Israel.
There’s no “reform” in his rule only replacement: replacing teachers with propagandists, soldiers with mercenaries, and a proud Arab identity with a colonial script written in Ankara and approved in Tel Aviv.
But what Jolani doesn’t understand is that Syria’s memory can’t be deleted. The spirit of October 1973 still lives in every Syrian who refuses to kneel.
He can cancel holidays, but he can’t cancel heritage. He can obey orders, but he can’t command hearts.
From the immortal Hafez al-Assad who fought for the liberation of land — to Al-Jolani — a puppet installed with the blessing of those who occupy it — Syria’s story has always been one of resistance. And resistance doesn’t fade; it regenerates.
