In the last months, Erdogan and the AKP government of Turkey claimed that they will destroy the PKK (The Kurdistan’s Worker Party) before the summer. To reach their aim Ankara and the KDP (local Kurdish party who actively collaborates with Turkey) recently held multiple meetings in order to win support in their military offensive against the guerrilla positions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
“The danger is that the Turkish occupation is permanent and will eventually turn into an annexation.” KCK’s foreign relations committee said in a recent statement.

Racist attacks against Syrian immigrants occurred overnight in Turkey.
Racist attacks against Syrian refugees began on June 30 in the Turkish city of Kayseri. These racist attacks spread to many cities last night. Turkish racists acted collectively and attacked Syrian immigrants. Syrian immigrants' stores were also damaged and looted during the attacks.
Racist attacks took place in Kayseri, the Reyhanli district of Hatay, Bursa, Kilis, Edene, Dilok, Izmir, and Istanbul, and groups also attacked the homes of refugees. The racist attacks continued late into the night.

ÇILAXA - On July 14, 1982, in the Amed (Diyarbakır) prison of the Turkish fascist state, under the leadership of martyrs Mihemed Xeyrî Durmûş, Kemal Pîr, Akîf Yilmaz and Alî Çîçek, they launched a deadly strike against torture policies that destroyed decent life. On July 19, 2012, the YPG and the people took control of Ba'ath government institutions in Kobanê, and the Kurdistan Rojava Revolution was declared.
As the anniversary of the July 14 Amed prison resistance and the July 19 revolution approached, the Çilaxa Revolutionary Youth Movement organized a celebration. The event was organized under the slogan "With the spirit of the July 14 resistance we will win the July 19 revolution."

31 years ago, the Madımak massacre
The Madımak massacre took place on 2 July 1993 and was directed against participants in a cultural festival held in honour of the Alevi folk poet Pir Sultan Abdal in the central Anatolian city. The guests of the festival, who stayed at the Madımak Hotel, were mainly Alevi artists, poets, thinkers, singers and folklore dancers, but also critical intellectuals of different denominations.
A religiously and nationalistically incited mob used the presence of the avowed atheist and well-known writer Aziz Nesin, among others, as a pretext to set fire to the hotel. The trapped people could not escape from the burning building because the angry mob blocked their way and cheered the fire. Although the police, military and fire brigade were alerted, they did not intervene until hours later. The events were broadcast live on state television for hours. 35 people, including two hotel employees, died in the fire at the Madımak Hotel.

Fascist gesture during Turkey's win against Austria
During Turkey's 2:1 victory against Austria in the quarter-finals yesterday, two-time goalscorer Demiral gave the wolf salute to celebrate the goal. The wolf salute is a symbol of the Grey Wolves, a Turkish fascist organization.
Demiral does not seem to be aware of any guilt. In an interview, he said that he hoped there would be more opportunities to show the salute.
In the evening, he posted a picture of the action on X with the caption: "Happy is he who calls himself a Turk". A slogan under which ethnic minorities in Turkey are still oppressed by the state and right-wing extremists.
With his gesture, Demiral also appears to be referring to the current anti-Syrian pogroms in Turkey, in which Syrian refugees have been attacked in dozens of cities in Turkey in recent days and at least two people have been killed. The wolf salute can also be seen again and again during these pogroms.

We strongly oppose the fact that Syrian refugees have been targeted in Turkey, with lynchings, targeted shootings, and raids on their homes, vehicles, and workplaces. These are the results of the manipulation that is being catalyzed by the racist and fascist Turkish state.
This inhumane situation must end as quickly as possible. The manipulation attempts of the racist, fascist, and conspiratorial AKP-MHP regimes must be monitored closely, and any attempt to mislead must be resisted. One must not harbor hostility towards other peoples, hold negative feelings towards them, or act aggressively towards them. This is unacceptable in human society. The AKP-MHP administration is playing dirty games. It is consciously attempting to achieve its fascist goals by pitting people against one another. These attacks, which began in Kayseri and extended to other locations, are the result of an AKP-MHP plot against society.

A crowdfunding is underway to rebuild the cinema Amude in Rojava. The old cinema was destroyed in a fire in 1960. The project is promoted by the Rojava Film Commune, a collective of filmmakers who have been working since 2015 to promote the visual arts in the autonomous region of Rojava/North-East Syria. In Italy, the campaign for the reconstruction of cinema is promoted by Ya Basta Bologna in collaboration with Un Ponte per, ARCI and UIKI Onlus.
The city of Amude has a population of just over 56,000 inhabitants, mostly Kurds, a large Arab minority and a significant presence of Assyrian citizens. The Amude cinema was the only one in the region, destroyed in a terrible fire in 1960.
