Kobanê Liberation Day:

Today marks the day when in 2015 the city of Kobane was freed from ISIS after months of brutal siege.

The liberation became a powerful symbol of resistance, sacrifice, and hope, highlighting the decisive role of Kurds in the fight against ISIS.

Today, Kobanê is under siege with a complete acceptance of the world leaders who clapped from their offices when Kurds sacrificed 15.000 lives in their honourable fight against ISIS.

The people and fighters of Kobanê, with the limited means at their disposal, put up a historic 134-day resistance against ISIS. This resistance then began to spread to all parts of Kurdistan in waves. Thousands of young people started to flock to Kobanê. People tried to cross the border into Kobanê. The Turkish state, the biggest supporter of ISIS, attacked the masses gathered at the border, but they could not succeed in making Kurdish youth, women, old people and children take a single step back.
