On Thursday, 15 young people from Germany, France and Italy were arrested by Turkish police at a press conference against the war against northern and eastern Syria in Riha. They were detained until yesterday and have now been deported. At the invitation of the Green Left Party YSP, they traveled to Northern Kurdistan as a delegation to take part in a congress yesterday and to get an idea of the Kurds' oppression and struggle for freedom.
Now, shortly after their arrival in Hamburg, the young people from Germany reported on their arrest, the prison conditions and the harassment in Turkey.
Among other things, they were physically tortured: "We were beaten, we were choked, we were kicked, male friends were beaten naked."
But the German police also continued the criminalization at the airport, where the delegates were greeted by people showing solidarity.

Seeing the current Revolution taking place in Rojava Kurdistan and realizing the similarities among the struggles, the people of Myanmar, members of the Karenni army sent a solidarity video towards the people of Rojava:
"Dear comrades in Rojava,
We are saddened to hear about the recent air raids that targeted non-military objectives, including civilians and civil infrastructure in Rojava. We can relate to the difficulties, sacrifices, and bravery of our brothers and sisters in Rojava since we have endured the cruelty of a military dictatorship for more than 70 years. (...)"

We are organizing this conference as youth for youth. We want to strengthen our perspectives and develop our own initiative. We are tired of having the world explained to us by our elders – we want to decide our own destiny.
It is us as youth, together with women, who have been the force of change throughout the history of humanity, challenging the realities and fighting against oppression and for an alternative way of life for all of society. Youth is the force that has always been at the forefront of movements and historical achievements – whether it was the slave revolts against the Roman Empire and other imperial powers, the resistance to colonial powers around the world, the peasant wars in Europe, or the ’68 revolution – youth have always been the vanguard of change and struggle. We must revive that spirit and continue to write our history.
