❓SNA (Turkey) and NDF (Syria) fighting together?

Maybe people are asking why the flag of the Syrian opposition is present under turkish flag and also as under Syrian flag, which may seem weird...

▪️This is a complex situation as a whole, for example while the syrian regime and iranian regime support creating destabilization in Deir ez-Zor, they do not want clashes to spread across other regions of Syria because this could lead to a turkish intervention under its SNA proxies.

🔸The so-called 'Syrian Opposition' does not work as is used to when it was formed in 2011, many factions under this flag have conflict interests and works according to their own views of the conflict. For example, many of them joined the ranks of SDF after their territory was liberated from ISIS from 2014 to 2019. For example: (Jaysh al-Salam, Jayš al-Thuwwār, Al-Baggara Tribe, 30th Infantry Division, Fursan al-Jazîra Brigades, etc - All still uses the Green-White-Black flag)

▪️Deir ez-Zor is a strategical region for the interests of Iran specially as the corridor that connects Iran to Lebanon goes through this region. In the map you can notice that 50% of the region is under regime control, thus the border with Iraq is under regime control. In the practice the present forces in the border in both sides are Iraninan-backed militias.

So they have their own interest in the region and supported Arab tribes to rise up against the AANES and SDF under the name of Islamic brotherhood and 'anti-imperialism' but the SNA faction in the occupied regions of Gire Spi, Serikaniye, Idlib and Afrin soon saw an opportunity on the situation and made calls to mobilization against SDF in different fronts - again under the pretext of "Arab tribes against SDF Kurds" which is a constructed narrative - when in fact, the SDF present in the region is made 95% of Arabs and has the support of local tribes.

▪️This is really complex and fixed but in the end, the attacks are under the interests of the states of the region - even when they clash among themselves, as it was in Mabij and Til Tamr where Syrian regime forces were killed.

🕊 Kurdish and internationalist youth started a long march for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan for the "Journey of Freedom" from Dortmund to Cologne.

The action organized under the slogan "Journey of Freedom with the Apoist Spirit" demands freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been held in isolation for 24 years and has not been heard from for 30 months.

▪️The action, which will conclude in Cologne on 8 September, is attended by around 40 internationalists from Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Spain, Italy and Bolivia, and over 200 young people from Kurdistan. On the first day of the march, the activists will march from Dortmund to Bochum.

The activists gathered at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DTKM) in Dortmund and organized a conference on Sunday under the slogan "Towards the Freedom of the Leader with Organized Youth" where they discussed the ideas of the Kurdish leader.

Syrian Democratic Forces move into last stronghold of recent unrest in Deir ez-Zor

On Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) entered the town of Diban in Deir ez-Zor (Dêrezor), a region in eastern Syria marred by recent unrest caused by rebellious Arab tribal clans. Once the operation in Diban is completed, the situation in the region will be largely under control for the SDF.

SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi issued a statement on social media after the Kurdish forces entered Diban, saying that the SDF would continue to stabilise the region and ensure the safety of citizens through Operation Security Reinforcement.

“Security is regained, civic peace is preserved and situation is stabilized thanks to SDF, local community and the tribal awareness,” said Abdi. The commander also raised concerns over ongoing offensives by the Turkish forces and its mercenaries in Tel Tamir and Manbij.

▪️On Sunday, the all-female militia Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) had announced that it was joining the operation and was preparing to cross into Diban, which marks the final stronghold of elements fighting against the Kurdish-led forces.

Tensions in Deir ez-Zor escalated last week when the SDF Military Council dismissed the commander of the Deir Ez-Zor Military Council, Ahmed Al-Khubail, known as Abu Khawla, citing his involvement in various crimes, including drug trafficking. This dismissal triggered mobilisation by Abu Khawla’s supporters within the Deir Ez-Zor Military Council, who threatened to confront SDF forces in the region.

Despite the conflict being largely portrayed as an ethnic clash between Kurds and Arabs, accusations have emerged implicating Turkey, the Syrian government, and Iran in inciting sectarian strife within SDF-held areas to fuel clashes for their own strategic interests.

In response, the SDF issued a statement on Saturday denouncing external interference in the Deir ez-Zor region, accusing certain actors of exploiting the ongoing Operation Security Reinforcement to advance their own agendas. The SDF emphasised their history of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Kurdish communities and rejected attempts to frame the situation as an inter-ethnic dispute.

🔸In a show of solidarity, Arab tribal sheikhs and leaders from various parts of northeastern Syria reaffirmed their commitment to standing by the SDF, underscoring the importance of unity in restoring and preserving peace in the region.

With the ideology of Leader APO, young people everywhere in freedom-loving and oppressed people are studying and being influenced by Leader APO's assessment. With the progress of the Rojava revolution and the liberated areas in the North and East of Syria, internationalist young people always come and study the Rojava revolution and the philosophy of the APO leader.

The Kurdish language, which was banned and only spoken secretly in homes and families, became a language that international youth everywhere want to learn and educate themselves with the emergence of Leader APO. The Kurdish language, the language of the oppressed people and with Leader APO and the Kurdistan freedom movement, became the language of the socialist revolutionaries and became an international language.

The APO Leader himself has developed many opinions on the meaning of Internationalism and our Nûçe Ciwan agency has listened to the readings of many young Internationalists.
