On this day 44 years ago today, the communist guerrilla Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional ended the rule of the US-backed Somoza clan in Nicaragua, which plundered one of the poorest countries in the region for 42 years.
The FSLN was named after the resistance leader Augusto Sandino, who fought the US occupation of Nicaragua from 1912-1933. Inspired by the armed liberation movement that turned the global colonial order on its head, the FSLN defeated Somoza in 1979 through urban and rural armed struggle.
However, the revolution faced the immense challenge of rebuilding the impoverished country, as the dictator left behind empty coffers and $1.5 billion in foreign debt. The Sandinista also faced US imperialism, which feared "another Cuba" in Central America.
The new revolutionary political system survived, and life expectancy increased from 51.6 years in 1970 to 62.3 years in 1985. The illiteracy rate, nearly 43 % in 1970, was reduced to 13 % by 1985.

Comrades Asya, Azad and Koçer, who led this action with the spirit of the Apoist self-sacrifice, fought heroically and reached martyrdom.

Siwar, who promised revenge after the martyrdom of his uncle's son Rojdem and Ibrahim, waved the flag he took over from the martyrs. Having lost both legs, Siwar continues his struggle for life, influenced by his fellow veterans.
Siwar Rojdem meets the fighters at the checkpoints established in Til Temir with the Rojava Revolution and establishes close relationships. He begins to bring firewood and fuel to the warriors so that they can warm up. After a while, using wood and diesel as an excuse, Siwar became interested in the ideas of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan through this small group and began to research.

❗️Two ISIS mercenaries were killed and another was arrested in an operation by the Anti-Terrorism Units in Dashisha
On July 19, the Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) of the Syrian Democratic Forces, with the support and participation of the Anti-Terrorism Forces in Southern Kurdistan (CTG) and the International Coalition, carried out an effective operation against a cell belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in the town of Al-Dashisha, affiliated to Al-Shadada, where the cell was dismantled.
The terrorist cell consisted of three elements who were involved in terrorist activities and attempted to strike the security and stability of the Deir Ezzor region and target citizens.
The operation resulted in the killing of 2 members of the cell, the arrest of one of its members alive, and the seizure of a quantity of weapons and ammunition, which are as follows:
- 2 AK-47
- 2 phones
- 1 pisto
- 1 grenade
- 8 AK-47 magazines
- 3 pistol magazines
- 1 hunting rifle

Within the 'revolutionary' organizations of the 'radical' left, the semblances of the subculture and counter-system become evident in occupations, cultural demonstrations, protests and so on. However, it is important to reflect on how much this really dialogues with the society which these same movements claim to fight to change or build something new. A meeting place, a squat, a base workplace, meetings, etc., which has a degraded appearance and aesthetics, will not dialogue with society. The idea is just the opposite, that it is a place where these individuals feel comfortable, instead of being a place where an alternative is built with society.
Understanding the difference between society and civilization is the first and main step towards this change.
