Chipurson is a small, remote valley nestled between towering mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan, a region that sits at the crossroads of the Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Karakoram ranges, home to peaks like K2.

Nearly two months ago, locals began reporting unusual seismic activity in the surrounding mountains, accompanied by loud explosions that many described as sounding like powerful bomb blasts. When residents approached local authorities, officials dismissed the reports as a “natural disaster” and declined to provide any further explanation. However, many locals and critics say they have never experienced anything like this before and believe the events do not feel natural.

So far, national media outlets have not covered the situation. With temperatures dropping to as low as -25°C and tremors still being felt, residents have now begun evacuating the valley, fearing for their safety.
