🇺🇸 BOSTON TEA PARTY
☕️ On December 16, 1773, a dramatic act of defiance unfolded in Boston, a key city in Britain's American colonies. Known as the Boston Tea Party, this event became a turning point in the colonies’ struggle for independence from British rule.
💰 At the heart of the protest was the Tea Act, which allowed Britain to tax tea sold in the colonies without giving the colonists any say in the matter—what they called "taxation without representation." Frustrated by this injustice, a group of colonists disguised themselves as Indians, boarded British ships, and threw 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor.
🇺🇸 This bold act wasn't just about tea; it was a protest against British control and a demand for self-governance. The Boston Tea Party sparked wider resistance, eventually leading to the American Revolution and the creation of the United States.

🌟 Emphasizing Positive and Negative Comparison
🚩 We often emphasize positive comparison like this:
🌟 He was miles better in that other films we saw him in.
🌟 It’s about a hundred times more expensive than it used to be.
🌟 There's no comparison! This one’s about a million times nicer.
🚩 We often emphasize negative comparison like this:
🌟 It’s nice, but nowhere near as nice as that Thai thing you cooked last time.
🌟 | do like chess, but I’m nothing like as good at it as you are.
🌟 It’s not even close to being their best CD. I think it's pretty average.
🌟 I'm useless at it! ’m not even in the same league as you!
🌟 I'm from China, so I find the food here in England a bit bland by comparison.

🌟 DID YOU KNOW?
🌟 Bowler hats used to dominate the streets of the City of London in the middle of the nineteenth century. They were created in 1849 by Edward Coke, the younger brother of the Earl of Leicester. Coke ordered the first one from the London hatters Lock & Co., who sub-contracted the order to Thomas and William Bowler. It was designed by himself to protect the heads of his gamekeepers from low-hanging branches – their top hats kept getting knocked off.
