πŸ”΄ The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (4th century BC), Argolis, Greece

The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (Peloponnese) is regarded as the best preserved ancient theatre in Greece in terms of its perfect acoustics and fine structure

It was constructed in the late 4th century BC and it was finalized in two stages. Originally the theatre had 34 rows of seats divided into 34 blocks by stairs and walkways.

Due to its incomparable acoustics, the actors can be perfectly heard by all 15,000 spectators. This is a superb example of classical theater with an orchestra and the circular area between the seats and the stage. The highest distance of the concave is 58 meters, while the diameter of the stage is 20 meters

πŸ”Έ The Turkish analyst on CNN Turk stated that Turkey intends to buy new F-16 (BLOCK 70) from the U.S and modernize 80 older units.

πŸ”Έ He then stated: "We do not have such modern jets, but Greece has. They have bought from France and continue to acquire more. That's why their purchase has value. If we do not get these aircraft, Greece will see our fighters before we see theirs. Greece will locate and strike our aircraft before we even see them"

Discovering the remains of Greco-Roman Egypt. Bust of Neilos from the Ancient Egyptian city of Canopus

This 2000 year old bust depicts Neilos, the Nile river god. Neilos appealed to Egyptians and Greeks alike, he was the Greek version of Hapy, the Egyptian personification of the annual Nile flood that brought prosperity and fertility to Egypt. Neilos played a significant role in one of the most popular festivals in Egypt, when the beginning of the annual flood marked the Egyptian New Year. Nilus was one of 3000 river gods children of the Titans Oceanus and his sister wife Tethys.

Canopus was an ancient Egyptian coastal town, located in the Nile Delta. At Canopus was a temple of Zeus-Canobus, whom Greeks and Egyptians held in equal reverence, and a much frequented shrine and oracle of Serapis. The decline of Canopus began with the rise of Alexandreia, and was completed by the introduction of Christianity into Egypt.

πŸ”΄ Turkish FM asks for EU intervention to solve the "Cyprus problem", accusing Cypriots of not wanting to solve the "problem" since they dont accept to share their island with the Turks
>https://archive.ph/xMb7s

πŸ”Έ "This is what we say in the EU. We do not know when the political problem of Cyprus can be solved as the Cypriots do not want it. We saw it in Crans Montana, as in the Annan plan. There can be a 'fair distribution' and everyone wins. At the political level, the one who can convince the Cypriots is the EU"

/GBG/
🟒 Turkey has proposed ridiculous "deals" to end the problem, none of them involve the retreat of Turkish troops or the dissolution of the current "government" in the occupied parts of Cyprus. They demand that Cyprus must shares the gas/oil revenues with the occupied areas as well as officially recognizing the occupying forces as a legitimate state in the island and have "two states". This is seen in negotiation as a Big Ask

πŸ”΄ Hagia Sofia's imperial gate was vandalized
>https://archive.is/zV20F

πŸ”Έ the Association of Art History in a post on Twitter complains that: "We found that the historic Imperial Gate of Hagia Sophia is in this condition and we photographed it, around 20:45 tonight (18.04.2022)"

/GBG/
🟒 After the public outrage caused by the images, Turkish authorities rushed to denounce the vandalism acts and promise that the perpetrators would be identified. Sadly as it is a Greek-made monument very little effort will likely be made to protect the monument and to identify or bring to justice those who caused such vandalism

🟒 "Oh noes, nobody expected Turks to be disrespectful towards a Christian monument after converting it into a mosque as a show of force and to disrespect its status once more" said the naive European and EU politicians
