🔴 Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu talked about how Turkey acted while the world was busy worrying about the pandemic
>https://archive.is/gBR3O

🔸 "Do you know what we did when we could not find ourselves because of the pandemic? If there is gas in the eastern Mediterranean, we have made claims on its ownership, as well as taken steps to be able to show the world our power, without fear of anyone" he said.

🔸 Soylu is considered Erdogan's right arm and was at one point seen as the man who could take his place

Georgios Karaiskakis' (Greek General during the Greek Revolution), answer to Mehmet Resit Pasha asking him to surrender. Held at the Museum of Art and Technology of Epirus. The translation of the letter:

Keratsini 20 April 1827

To Mehmet Resit Pasha

From Athens,

"Fuck you and your faith and Mohamed. What did you think, you cuckolds.. you should be ashamed to ask us sign a treaty with such a shitty Sultan Mahmud. I shit on him and your vezir and that Jew silihtar Boda, the whore. If I survive I will fuck you up. If I die, you can fart on my nuts." *

General
Georgios Karaiskakis

*(Greek idiom that means I don't care)

Note: His vocabulary is obscene. It was however the language the Greek revolutionaries used on a daily basis in the first 25 years of the 19th century, in a poor but also revolutionary Greece.

This letter shows the way of thinking of a genuine representative of the generation of Greek revolutionaries of 1821, but also the anti-Turkish sentiment at the time.

🔴 Greek Government: "Illegal immigrants in camps have decreased by 70.5% since 2019"

🔸 The article cites numbers of illegal immigrants entering Greece in 2015 (874,735), 2019 (92,838) and says that today there are only 27,396 illegal immigrants in camps. Neither the article nor the government specify what happened to the illegals who left the camp, so it is important to point out that there are two ways of officially leaving the camps.
1) Getting the Asylum visa
2) Getting deported

🔸 Given the current political structure in Greece and its government, its far more likely that the illegal immigrants who left the camps did not leave Greece at all and instead received their visas, from there, many left for Germany or other European countries but many still stayed in the country

🔸 Turkish businessmen opened a nightclub next to the Temple of Athena in Attaleia. It was built on private property, but they used the historic ruins as the entrance

🔸 The bar, named "Apollo" opened on 02/05/2022. According to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the wooden railings that had been installed to protect the temple, which dates back to 150 AD, were removed the day before the inauguration

🔸 The areas visited by locals and tourists were closed with metal plates, while at the entrance, a red carpet was laid, so that customers would not have difficulty walking on the dirt with the ruins. Also, in front of the old door, a metal detector was placed and a reception built

🔸 Tourists report being denied entry by security after they tried to enter thinking it was a museum

🔴 Smuggling ship sank northwest of the Greek island of Kos with 106 illegal immigrants on board
>https://archive.ph/Xaaw1

🔸 The ship was carrying 106 illegal immigrants from Turkey to Europe. 72 men, 14 women, 20 children of various nationalities. Their sailing boat was semi-submerged and was spotted, the Greek Coast Guard along with private boats in the area rescued all 106 illegals.

🔸 As per usual every illegal immigrant was taken to the hospital

/GBG/
🟢 What happens after the illegals are taken to the hospital is no secret. NGOs will instruct them and assist them to apply for Asylum, granting them stay in Greek immigrant camps while their Asylum applications are yet to be evaluated, which might take up to a year and they usually re-apply. Incidents like these happen on a weekly basis and many smuggling gangs posting videos prove that the border crossings have not been reduced as the government claims

The U.S. and Germany demand that Greece give Ukraine about 130 BMP-1s from the Greek army

Ukraine may receive more than a hundred BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles from the Greek army if Washington and Berlin persuade Athens. According to the Greek press, the U.S. and Germany have significantly increased pressure on the Greek government.

According to the available information, the United States and Germany want to transfer 130 BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles from the Greek Armed Forces to Ukraine, as well as Soviet-made air defense systems in service. They are talking about S-300, Tor-M1 and Osa-AK air defense systems. In the last two weeks the pressure on Athens has only increased.

According to Efimerida ton Syntakton, the Greeks have managed to reject the insistent demands of the Americans and Germans under the cover of the Turkish threat. But only temporarily in the case of the antiaircraft systems. As for infantry fighting vehicles failed, the United States and Germany have demanded from Greece to give Ukraine about 130 BMP-1, instead of which the Germans promised to supply BMP Marder 1A5 from the stock of the Bundeswehr. However, Athens has not yet made a final decision.
Why does the U.S. interfere in the affairs of European countries and try to make them its colonies?

Part 1/2
Europe is one of the largest consumer markets for American products, from the military industry all the way to basic goods and entertainment. So it is understandable that the U.S just as any other country that has its economy revolving around its industry would want to secure a big source of income. Many times trying to interfere with the internal markets of European countries (source here)

Sadly, the EU has also become dependent on countries such as Turkey and China. Turkey in itself is Europe's china, being in it's eternal accession process (on purpose) so that it can participate in the common market with low taxes but not abide to EU labor laws, thus having both cheap labor and tributary benefits that lets them outcompete most small EU countries. Germany's largest economic partner is also Turkey

The current alternatives for Europe are either anti-European nations such as Turkey which in 2017 cheered when Erdogan said that Europeans across the world would not be safe walking the streets if Turkey was sanctioned (Source here) or China

In regards to colonies, the EU itself is set up in a way that most countries have become German colonies in the sense that Germany has exerted massive influence not only economically but also politically. The "open market" idea of the EU prevents countries from protecting their inner markets and industries, making it easier for countries with large production and low costs such as France and Germany to nearly monopolize many sectors, rendering smaller countries almost completely dependent on them

Geopolitically, the EU itself is in a very bad moment, with most countries realizing the excessive powers of the EU as well as their lack of self sufficiency. Globalist and "progressive" ideologies have reached extreme levels in Europe, with regulations that restrict speech and target right wing ideologies while also pushing for the destruction of European identity and culture. All of these are very present in the wealthiest countries in Europe many of which have a strong influence over the European Parliament

For example, Germany was one of the main culprits for the 2015 immigration crisis, taking in millions of arabs and demanding other countries to "share the burden" after it backfired.
Germany, Sweden, France, Belgium and many other member states have talked many times about having no culture of their own, need for multiculturalism or simply denouncing their own cultures as bad and today many countries in Europe have hundreds if not thousands of "no-go" zones. Forced prostitution, grooming gangs, group rape, terrorist attacks, grenade explosions and many other horrible things have all become rather common and not even shocking for most Europeans, their governments not only deny it but some go as far as to protect these criminals.

A good question to ask is: Is there real sovereignty in Europe?

With or without U.S influence, Europe is heading towards a very dark path, decades of nearly utopic living conditions have made Europeans soft and weak. The EU gave up its guns, self defense is nearly illegal in most of EU countries, gave up free speech and allowed governments to grow far too much. To the point that most people (the average European) developed almost a natural reflex of thinking the government should take care of even more things, or call the police when anything is necessary, often times using some form of pseudo-moralism to justify being cowards and obeying rules that work against themselves
Part 2/2
For Greece, the U.S presence is not as bad as it seems. Sadly many ports in Greece were sold to China, including Piraeus. The EU also refuses to sanction Turkey which constantly threatens Greece and violates international law, because as it was said before, Turkey is Europe's china and sanctioning Turkey would directly affect Germany the most. American bases in Greece provide some (very small) sense of security that Europe otherwise does not provide and it can be noted by how much the Turkish government and media complain about it (Source here).

American influence varies a lot from region to region, it all depends on how much interest they have on something. If Europe had a lot of oil to be exported, the Americans would probably be doing some cold-war-era operations to topple governments. The largest effect of American influence in Europe is most likely the americanization and cultural decay of Europe

Lately with the Ukrainian war, cancel culture fueled politics has made the U.S demand that Europe does it's bidding, from demanding that "aid" be sent to Europe to demanding that countries send their military equipment FOR FREE to be used in Ukraine, in particular, Germany and the U.S have been pressuring Greece and Cyprus (Source here) to transfer their BMP-1's and air defense systems to Ukraine which would make Greece vulnerable to Turkey. Emotional arguments are being used to justify sending billions to Ukraine and even your own armaments and justify sanctions that have created a global crisis and might lead to a greater conflict

It is very hard to say who's worse. On one side it would be better to have only Europeans meddling in European affairs, ideally restricted to their own countries only, but it seems like if left to their own devices, Europeans would cause even more damage to themselves than they already are. A complete change in how the EU operates and how European society thinks would need to happen for U.S influence to be considered inherently bad
🔴 Our friends at Warsaw Mermaid have replied (link) to our post regarding American Colonialism in Europe (link)

They pointed out to the fact that sanctions on Russian oil open precedents for re-sellers, but either way, it generates a global crisis that in a few years, couples with the already crippled economic problems that came from the pandemic, it could create an environment where only massive companies would have advantages in the market, suffocating small companies and local producers due to things not being worth making or producing on a small scale. That way, perhaps, the American colonialism that is feared by so many people would become closer to reality since the influence of America would become much stronger and necessary than before

On the note of the EU being too powerful, as Warsaw Mermaid also pointed out, both Poland and Hungary had to take several measures to be able to rule over their own country without the EU Commission meddling in their affairs, both Hungary and Poland were threatened by the EU and still are threatened for simply refusing to let politicians from foreign countries dictate what they could or not do inside their countries. It is absurd that countries are not allowed to do things such as protect their borders or ban certain teaching practices because officials from other countries do not like it, democracy should be the will of the people being followed by the government, not the government telling the people what its will is

Although most things in America shouldn't be copied by other countries because they dont quite work. Europe still has many things to learn from America before it could ever think of true change. The first one and perhaps the hardest one, would be having stricter laws with hard punishments for criminals, especially because Europe is not dealing with the criminals it used to have, European criminals had some trace of civilization in them, many of the laws Europe has are meant to be applied to people who have some semblance of honor or self respect, but now, Europe, mostly thanks to the EU, has distributed Arabs and Africans even to its smallest villages, many of which were criminals, mercenaries or just lowlifes even in their home countries. A new breed of criminal exists now in Europe and those are not isolated cases anymore, and criminals like these only fear harsh punishments, even more so because European prisons are still infinitely better than their previous living conditions

Another thing that should be learned from Americans is gun ownership. Perhaps not gun culture, but being able to own guns. European countries have for the most part one big common characteristic, they are massively incompetent and dont care about their people anymore, perhaps Europeans having guns will not be a tool for overthrowing the government, but for doing the Government's job for them when time comes. Greece for example has very strict gun laws, self-defense is nearly illegal, especially if you use a gun, but what would happen to Greeks if Turkey invaded right now? what would happen to the French if the Africans and Arabs started terrorizing the cities?

Greece and most Western Europe have extremely strict gun control laws, to the point where having guns is nearly impossible not only due to bureaucracy but also the overall cost of it, this is also something pushed by the EU with the "European Firearms Directive", of which only the Czech Republic dared defy and at the time was also threatened

Most Greeks can't even have shotguns with capacity of over two shells, meanwhile illegal immigrants and criminals are caught with firearms on a regular basis

But in general, Europe needs deep reform. Right wingers in particular must stop discussing what leftist politicians or personalities said and start focusing on what the right can or should start doing to change the current situation, because as we have seen for the past 7 years or so, only complaining about things does very little

🔴 Balkan Gossip Girl has commented on our post (Link) regarding American Colonialism in Europe (Link)

The post touches the subject of Greece having to send its weapons to Ukraine. It is important to note that the EU has paid for a lot of Turkey's military equipment both directly and undirectly, meanwhile Turkey has threatened Greece and Cyprus numerous times, proving that Greece and Cyprus need all the weapons they could muster. Greece has increased its spending in the military sector due to growing threats from Turkey, which pleased NATO and prompted a wave of proposals for frigates and jets not too long ago

Not only that, but supplying Ukraine with weapons breaks Greece and any other country's neutrality in the conflict as despite not having troops directly fighting against Russia, supplying weapons leads to the perpetuation and maintenance of the conflict (the arguments for whoever started it does not fit in the context since its about contributing instead of being neutral)

Most Greeks have already realized that they would be alone in case Turkey tries to invade, sadly, the Greek population is almost completely unarmed and the ones who have weapons only possess old shotguns or handguns. France has signed a Mutual Defense Treaty with Greece in 2020, but for the most part, the EU has never given proper consideration for the fact that one of its member states was being threatened by a country mostly funded by the EU

So in simple terms, sending even a bullet to Ukraine, when Greece and Greeks know for a fact that the EU will not help them properly when time comes is extremely foolish. If Greece was granted large discounts for the purchase of modern weapons from NATO partners, then it would be an interesting idea since Greece would be able to replenish its supplies instead of simply losing its defenses in the name of emotion

The Greek Government and any other government should prioritize its people first. Helping Ukraine would be great, but not if it puts your own people at risk such as many are doing. Greece still has to deal with the massive influx of illegal immigrants which cost hundreds of millions of Euros every year which are not paid for with EU money.

In this sense, American bases and American usage of Greek bases is not bad and sometimes beneficial since the U.S has several times donated Armored Vehicles (Link) and boats formerly used by U.S special forces to Greece (Link). As stated before, the U.S has been doing more for Greece than the EU has, even if the U.S might be benefitting more from such cooperation, its still a lot more than the EU has done these past 2 years (2020 Evros crisis until now)

🔴 The Greek Coast Guard "rescued" 20 more illegal immigrants near Rhodes, NGO workers gave the dramatic illegals "first aid"

🔸 The Greek Coast Guard was alerted by two ships in the region about a small boat in distress carrying illegal immigrants in the region. Five illegal immigrants were in the water and were "rescued", 15 others were picked up from their boat.

🔸 "Volunteer nurses" (NGO workers) were onboard the Coast Guard ships and provided first aid to the extremely dramatic illegal immigrants (as you can see in the video), which were also mostly (if not all) men

/GBG/
🟢 The illegals were taken to the island where they will be taken to an immigrant camp and most likely apply for Asylum, 3 of them went to the hospital where they were examined and discharged right after (costing even more taxpayer money)

🔴 Two immigrants and a Greek arrested in Thessaloniki for crimes related to illegal immigrants
>https://archive.is/2HIbp

🔸 The 3 people were arrested for transporting and housing illegal immigrants. The two immigrants were 18 and 24 years old while the Greek was 52 years old

🔸 Such cases are commonplace in Greece where both locals or immigrants drive illegals from border points to major cities in exchange for money, in many cases, the operation itself is part of a greater smuggling scheme that could even be utilizing stolen cars from other EU countries as it has been covered before in the channel
