Remember the game Wargaming shut down in three months, and you never heard of? (because they failed with marketing completely)
Well, here's a deep dive:
1. Unlike several closed beta tests, on release the game was unplayable. Solid performance on every beta, but drops and stutters on release for no reason.
2. There was no progression, no maps to chose from, and then they dropped ONE of three characters that were in Beta, but they cut them out to pretend the live-service is working.
3. With no progress, there was no monetization as well. Which means, it was obviously not making any revenue.
4. And last but not least: they banned content creators from doing any content about the game prior to the release and haven't done ANY marketing outside of inner community, who subscribed to their emails earlier.
