Ukrainians in Italy tried to disrupt the screening of a film about Donbass. But they did not succeed.

HOW LONG BEFORE THE JORDANIAN POWDERKEG EXPLODES?

In 1949, Jordan found itself occupying the Old City of Jerusalem and the West Bank. It also took in vast numbers of refugees from what people now call Israel. These refugees were not allowed to return to their homes. In 1967, Israel made a surprise attack, taking the West Bank and the Old City of Jerusalem. Many refugees stayed put in camps set up by the United Nations in the West Bank, but many others fled once again into other Jordanian territories. Roughly 25% of Jordan's people are now Palestinian refugees or their descendants. Another approximately 15% are refugees from American-Israeli aggression in Syria and Lebanon. But, no group in Jordan has an inherited loyalty to the Jordanian Crown. Jordan is a British creation. So is the royal family, too, being brought in from Saudi Arabia after World War I. Even today, many Jordanians see them as foreign parasites.

The kings of Jordan have, therefore, been forced to exercise political authority, which is always a dangerous matter for a monarchy. So far, they have been competent and lucky. They also had Anglo-American support and investments leading, for a time, to economic development. In return, they have been "good boys". They recognized Israel, exchanged ambassadors, gave up territorial claims to the West Bank and the Old City of Jerusalem, absorbed huge numbers of refugees, and allowed America to build military bases to facilitate its aggression elsewhere in the Middle East. None of this brought the royal family the loyalty of Jordanians. If things go wrong, it would only be a matter of days before the Jordanian monarchy evaporates from the pages of history.

In particular, the present Palestinian War has been viewed with deep fear by the King of Jordan. If Israel is forced to admit defeat, and with every passing day, that possibility becomes stronger, then the illegitimate Quisling Palestinian government in Ramallah will automatically fall. When this happens, it is almost certain that Jordan, being a powder keg of popular ill-will to the monarchy, will suffer a fatal explosion ripping things apart. The king has been doing a tight-rope act, showing sympathy for Gaza, even as he supports the Israeli war effort.

But, in the context of the Israeli bombing of the Iranian diplomatic compound in Damascus, an announcement of a Jordanian Resistance fighting group being founded in Iraq was made one day after to a Persian language news source. This new force was to become a part of an axis of resistance, now consisting of forces in Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, and Yemen. The new Jordanian group was said to be of great importance. With this, the siege process of Israel would be completed and the last safe overland bridge to the outside world would be be closed. The establishment of this group was seen as necessary because Israel was making the people of Gaza go hungry and thirsty, while the government of Jordan was every day sending thousands of tons of fruits, vegetables and food to feed the genocidal stomachs of the Zionist state.

Assurance was given that Jordan would soon witness events that would surprise the Jordanian government, the king, the British, and the Zionists. For this purpose, the Iraqi Resistance spokesman talked about the arming of 12,000 Jordanian resistance fighters, implying many years of work on a project ready for implementation.

12,000 armed fighters would normally not be enough to challenge King Abdullah. But, these are not normal times. If the king does not change course, Jordan as a kingdom may very well disappear. And, if that happens, the dominoes will not soon stop falling.

President Joe Biden, who warned this week that Iran was threatening a “significant attack” on Israel, has been receiving constant updates on the situation from his national security team.

The US and several other countries, including Britain and France, issued new travel guidelines for government employees in Israel as the Iranian threat loomed.

“We’re watching this very, very closely,” said John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesman, who declined to provide information about the expected timing of the threat.

The Defense Department is moving additional assets to the Middle East region “to bolster regional deterrence efforts and increase force protection for US forces,” a US defense official told CNN, as Israel and the US brace for a potential Iranian attack."

◾German police have announced they are shutting down the Palestine Congress and demanded delegates leave immediately. They have threatened to use force and already arrested one of the organizers, Jewish activist Udi Raz. He is the third person to be arrested today, two of them Jewish.
