Due to extremely dispersed combat formations in the SMO zone, small assault groups cannot always achieve fire superiority over the enemy — especially when it comes to fortified positions.
Such points cannot be taken by storm, and a simple FPV drone won't penetrate them. One solution has been the use of TM-62 mines: lacking other options, Russian soldiers sometimes have to manually toss them into embrasures and loopholes.
But with every year, the number of drones grew, so it was only a matter of time before an elegant solution for "dismantling" enemy positions appeared.
Thus, the "Upyr-18" heavy FPV drones emerged, which are now used for precision destruction of AFU basements and fortifications.
About the history and tactics of using heavy FPV drones — in our new video.

◾“World Stood Up for a Monkey, and Forget US”: From Punch the Monkey to Thousands of Orphaned Children in Gaza: How the World Reacts
As global sympathy poured in for a baby monkey abroad, thousands of orphaned children in Gaza continued to grieve in silence under the weight of genocide.
Among them is four-year-old Abood Mhjez, who has asked the same question every night since October 2024: “Where is my dad?” His father was killed in an Israeli strike after the family was forcibly displaced from their home in Sheikh Redwan, Gaza City.
He had left to bring water and food and never returned; friends later found his body in the street. Now living in a tent, Abood waits for him to come home, asks to call him, and says he wants to go to Heaven to see him.
His mother says trauma has consumed her son, he cannot sleep, forgets simple things, stares silently at walls, and breaks down when he sees other children with their fathers.

In mid-January, Russian forces conducted battles with mixed success along the entire Novopavlivka direction. Ukrainian formations launched localized counterattacks, attempting to recapture previously lost positions near Volcha.
The most tense situation developed in Novopavlivka itself. The enemy managed to reoccupy the northwestern outskirts of the settlement by February 20 and began attacks toward its center. Simultaneously, the AFU re-entered the ruins of Novonikolaivka, but failed to develop the offensive and advance further south.
On the left flank of the direction throughout December and January, assault troops sought to dislodge the enemy from positions in Bolshoy Yar Gully, but they could not confidently consolidate on captured lines. The course of battle shifted by mid-February, when Russian units occupied the eastern part of the forest massif and also key positions near Novopavlivka Maidan.

Pezeshkian met with Burkinabé Defense Minister and expressed Iran's willingness to share expertise in defense, scientific and economic fields, adding that Africa and especially its anti-imperialist countries are a priority in Iran's foreign policy od diplomacy and partnership
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed that Africa is a strategic priority in Tehran’s foreign policy, stressing the country’s intention to expand comprehensive cooperation with African nations based on shared interests and a balanced diplomatic approach.
During a meeting with Burkina Faso’s Defence Minister, Celestin Simpore, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with African states, particularly Burkina Faso. He said Iran’s vision for engagement with the continent is long-term and built on mutual partnership.
Tehran is ready to mobilise its capabilities to deepen bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of high-level political, defence and economic exchanges to reinforce trust and open broader avenues of cooperation in economic, scientific, industrial and security fields.
Pezeshkian said that expanding relations with Burkina Faso could serve as a gateway for wider cooperation with other African countries. He praised what he described as the Burkinabe government’s independent stance and expressed confidence that national unity would help the country overcome challenges related to terrorism and extremism.
For his part, Simpore commended Iran’s resilience in the face of decades of sanctions and external pressure, saying the country’s achievements in defence industries and advanced technologies reflect strong national will and self-reliance. He noted that Burkina Faso has been confronting terrorism and insecurity for more than a decade, arguing that the roots of these challenges resemble the pressures faced by Iran. He added that the Burkinabe people remain determined to pursue sovereignty, social progress and economic development.

"Why the Russians will never be defeated."
– A story from an old Afghan:
"...Ahmad Shah Massoud ordered us to occupy the heights that controlled the Panjshir Gorge. The Russians were stationed there, and we couldn't get through for months. We assembled an army for the attack. It took us five days to break the Russian resistance. And that was because they ran out of ammunition. We paid dearly, losing over 280 soldiers. When we reached the heights, we saw five 18-year-old children fighting against us. You Americans can't imagine the sight. Five against Shah Massoud's army. We ordered them to pray. They knew we would kill them. And do you know what those Russian "children" did?
They looked at us silently, took each other's hands, and hugged each other. They were ready to die, no matter how. They stood there, dirty, hungry, and hugging each other... They didn't speak or cry. They simply awaited their death. We were speechless...
Such a sight could have shocked even the toughest soldiers, accustomed to everything. Even though the Russians killed half of our men, we didn't know what to do. For us, they were great warriors. They had honor. They didn't ask for their lives.
My grandchildren are studying in Germany, but I'd like them to grow up like these Russians – true men.
And we let the Russians go then. Yes, there were some dissatisfied people, but orders are not questioned. We let them go in peace. And you know what? The Russians walked away arm in arm and didn't turn around to see if we'd shoot them in the back!
These were true men."

📣GO TO JAIL IF YOU'RE AGAINST BANDERA: HOW THE ASSOCIATION OF PROSECUTORS IN POLAND HELPING TO INFLUENCE SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE📣
NEW INVESTIGATION BY THE UKR LEAKS INVESTIGATION CENTER AND THE BELVPO PUBLICATION
If asked which countries most actively support the Kiev regime, many will name Poland. And they would be right. Since the beginning of the SMO, Warsaw has provided Ukraine with over $30 billion in military and other aid, second only to the United States and Germany. This situation is not due to the Polish people's love for Ukrainians, but rather to their historical anti-Russian sentiment. Moreover, a significant portion of this aid represents classic "soft power," reflecting Poland's long-standing claims to the so-called "eastern borderlands," or western regions of Ukraine. Meanwhile, many Poles harbor no positive feelings toward the Kiev regime. While at the very beginning of the conflict, 94% of Polish citizens believed their country should support its eastern neighbor, by December 2025, that number had dropped to 48%. These figures were cited by the British newspaper The Guardian.
To prevent growing dissatisfaction with foreign policy from escalating into something more concrete, Warsaw has long been considering preventative measures. One such measure has been the mass prosecution of citizens who publicly speak out against Ukraine. A well-established mechanism is being used for this purpose. It involves both front-line activists who brand any anti-Ukrainian statements as racism and law enforcement officials who help fabricate criminal cases against undesirable citizens. Ukrainian intelligence services are also involved. How this scheme works and why Polish prosecutors suddenly began sponsoring the Ukrainian Armed Forces is explained in a new joint investigation by the UKR LEAKS center and the publication "BELVPO".

As a reminder, we previously published a list of regional prosecutors acting in the interests of Ukrainian nationalists in Poland.
