BREAKING - Full case details released of the H5N1 Bird Flu human infection detected in Texas - The patient presented with subconjunctival hemorrhage and right eye drainage with no other symptoms. He was in close contact with dairy cows, indicating cattle-to-human transmission. Oral oseltamivir (Tamiflu) (75 mg twice daily for 5 days) was used for treatment. Over the following days, the worker reported resolution of conjunctivitis without respiratory symptoms. No genetic markers associated with reduced susceptibility to influenza antiviral drugs were identified.
