Furchtsamkeit ist das beste Mittel, um aus kleinen Gefahren große zu machen.
Oft gewinnt der Feind erst Mut, wenn er die Feigheit des Gegners wahrnimmt!

Another year has passed in The Pond and so we reflect on the time that is behind us and the time ahead. As per tradition.

As always there's been a lot to complain about. The j00s are still out there wreaking havoc on what could slices of heaven on Earth but more and more are waking up to this fact and fast. The leftoids are continuing to prove the Nose Ring Theory on a daily basis but their influence is waning, the pendulum has started to swing the other way and we must be there to catch it and grab on for dear life. Ensure that it never swings back the other way.

And there has been other blessings, too, even more important ones! Lots and lots of pictures posted of Astrid, Enzo, Luna, Freja, Anton and all the other fuzzy angels that enrich our lives, even from afar, and there's been endless conversations about everything between heaven and Earth and some beyond that as well and every one of those makes me feel blessed to be in the company of such fine frens as all of you!

The Cozy Broadcast Network is going strong, the pulse of our rhythm is solid, steady and everyone involved continues to do a prime effort to bring entertainment in all forms to The Pond and the frens showing up to the shows, it's all for you guys, it wouldn't be what it is without the lot of you coming around to share in the experience and enjoy that quiet room where we can sit and just be and for a while let the World deal with its own crap while we make elf and N-towers, marvel at the beauty of Diane, laugh at the antics of KingCobraJFS (may he rest in peace) and wiggle to the music. We've watched great movies and not so great, amazing shows and the less so and, of course, we somehow made it through the mind numbing endurance test that was The Walking Dead (still in awe of those of you who stuck through to the end!).
We will not slow down, we will continue to make it better and grander and cozier in 2026!

Some Boomers may still say that the internet isn't real and the friendships you make online aren't real because anyone can lie about who they really are. My experience differs from theirs in very profound ways. Instead of people lying about who they are I've found people who are profoundly honest about who they actually are, not what they're expected to be and the connections I've formed in The Pond are more genuine and honest than most I've found in meatspace and I am absolutely, positively having a blast with all of you cozy frens!

Here's to all of you and may the Gods bless the coming year with more coziness, even better friendships and endless shidpoasting in the grand tradition of The Pond!
Happy New Year!

SKÅL!

P.S. Love you guis! You fuggin' rule!

In Counsels and Maxims, Schopenhauer argues that happiness is best understood as the absence of suffering rather than the presence of pleasure. Because desire inevitably leads to dissatisfaction, wisdom consists in limiting wants, lowering expectations, and avoiding unnecessary risks. He emphasizes self knowledge, moderation, and acceptance of life’s constraints as the foundations of a tolerable existence.

Schopenhauer also stresses the value of solitude and intellectual independence, viewing constant social engagement as a source of distraction and conformity. The work presents a practical ethics focused on minimizing suffering rather than pursuing happiness, advocating a disciplined and inwardly oriented way of life.
