RT @AmazonTeamOrg: 🎉 We are proud to announce that our #storymap “Living Territories: Stories of Territorial Justice” has won the @IUCN Indigenous Peoples Governance and Rights Award in the 2023 @Esri @ArcGISStoryMaps Competition.
🦋 Jennifer Kelleher, a guest judge for the competition and member of the Protected and Conserved Areas team at IUCN, states: “This story is a truly emblematic account of conservation through indigenous peoples’ governance and traditional knowledge, and describes very well how recognition of these rights and justice can lead to a healthy planet and sustained cultural and spiritual values.”
🦜 “Living Territories” was also selected as runner-up in track 1 of the competition, which focused on storymaps that highlight an indigenous-led or community-led conservation project.
