This morning, @NOAA's #GOESEast 🛰️ is continuing to monitor #HurricaneNigel over the central Atlantic, currently a Category 1 storm. #Nigel's outer bands stretch far to the north and south, while its large eye can be clearly seen on satellite. The storm is expected to intensify today.

RT @JPSSProgram: In a #NOAA20 satellite image from Sept. 19, 2023, Hurricane #Nigel was seen over the western Atlantic Ocean.

As of 11 a.m. EDT on Sept. 20, the storm had sustained winds of 90 mph & is forecasted to weaken into a post-tropical cyclone by Friday.
