Last week, we got a beautiful view of the super blue moon on the#SeascapeAlaska expedition!
Wondering why it’s orange & not blue? A#BlueMoon is when there are 2 full moons in a month, instead of the actual color being blue as the name might suggest.

RT @oceanexplorer: Sea spiders are beautiful & important deep-ocean ecosystem members…but they're on our #Halloween list given their resemblance (& common-name connection) to land spiders. This one, seen during #SeascapeAlaska, comes with a Halloween bonus – parasites hanging on for the ride! 🕷️
