The #ArcticWeatherSatellite first signal was just picked up by @KSAT_Kongsberg antennas.
. @KSAT_Kongsberg is ready to monitor the launch of @esa's #ArcticWeatherSatellite📡🛰️
The first signal will be acquired from Svalbard ground station (Svalsat).
Svalsat's location at 78° North latitude provides a unique advantage for tracking and communicating with satellites in polar orbits. - ESA Earth Observation ESA Earth Observation

Within the span of a few hours we launched two innovative missions to space!
@esa's #ArcticWeatherSatellite is set to change how we monitor weather in the Arctic while #Phisat2's goal is to demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence can improve our EO capabilities.
Well done to all teams involved.

Safe trip, AWS!
The #ArcticWeatherSatellite launched yesterday on a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg, California 🚀
Congratulations @esa on the successful launch! 👏

RT @ESA_EO: While we wait for the launch window to open, let's have a look at why @esa's #ArcticWeatherSatellite is such a cool mission:
✅ we are currently missing data for data for accurate short-term forecasts: this satellite will do exactly that
✅ its development was faster and cheaper than the standard EO mission
✅ it's the prototype for a much bigger constellation that we would build for @eumetsat

RT @ESA_EO: LIFTOFF!
#ArcticWeatherSatellite and #Phisat2 are now leaving Earth to start their missions. The two satellites are currently onboard a @spaceX Falcon-9 rocket.
The next big milestone will be separation from the launcher. https://t.co/ekz0hbPYit

RT @jarimakinen: You need to wait for the good stuff, like the Meteosat Third Generation Imager satellite’s #MTGI1 FCI data. Just combine this (and other observations from the geostationary orbit) with the upcoming EPS-Sterna #arcticweathersatellite constellation data, and you have magic.

Good news! 🥳
From today, pre-operational data from the FCI instrument on board #MTGI1 will be available to weather forecasters around Europe & beyond! 🛰️
The FCI produces more frequent, higher-resolution images than previous-generations.
