.@NOAA's #GOESEast 🛰️ tracked Tropical Storm #Chantal as it developed and made landfall in the Mid-Atlantic on Sunday, bringing heavy rain and flooding to the Carolinas before weakening as it moved northward.

NHC has completed its post-analysis and Tropical Cyclone Report for Tropical Storm #Chantal (July 4-7, 2025). Chantal was the only tropical cyclone to make landfall in the United States last year, moving inland over northeastern SC. Chantal was responsible for 6 direct fatalities in NC, mostly from freshwater flooding.
