📢 At #IUCNCongress, IUCN welcomed Armenia @armgov as its newest State Member.🇦🇲

Situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Armenia harbours unique biodiversity and is stepping up efforts to expand protected areas and restore ecosystems ahead of hosting #COP17.

“We are honoured to welcome Armenia as a State Member of IUCN,” said Dr Grethel Aguilar, IUCN Director General. “This decision comes at a pivotal moment as Armenia expands protected areas, restores forests, and aligns its environmental legislation with international standards.”
