1pm CDT, 10/10/2023: Hurricane Warning in place for Mexican Offshore Zones due to #Lidia . Winds up to 90 kt and seas to 28 ft this afternoon and evening. Winds and seas will diminish quickly by Wednesday morning.

MIMIC-TC imagery shows Hurricane #Lidia's dramatic improvement in organization with the intensity rapidly increasing from 60 knots to 120 knots (Cat 4) just prior to landfall. The center will pass close to or over Puerto Vallarta tonight.

10/10 - #Lidia made landfall in west-central #Mexico as a category 4 #hurricane with max #winds of 120 kt and gusts to 145 kt. #Seas near the center were near 35 ft (~10.5 m). Seas in the offshore waters of SW Mexico will gradually subside as Lidia quickly weakens over land.

#Lidia made landfall with Category 4 force near Las Penitas Mexico around 2350 UTC (5:50pm MDT) then deteriorated over mountainous terrain overnight. This view via MIMIC microwave imagery. The remnants will produce additional heavy rainfall and possible flooding in Mexico today.

Hurricane #Lidia made landfall late Tuesday in west-central #Mexico at extremely dangerous Cat 4 strength.
It brought life-threatening winds, rain and floods.
It has now dissipated but risk of flooding continues, says @NHC_Pacific #EarlyWarningsForAll

Hurricane #Lidia made landfall near Mexico's Pacific coast resort of Puerto Vallarta last evening as a powerful Category 4 storm with 140 mph winds.

This morning, Lidia's remnants are still bringing heavy rainfall and flooding over parts of western Mexico.

According to @NHC_Atlantic, Lidia made landfall at 8 pm EDT on Oct. 10, with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph, making it a Category 4 hurricane, producing high winds & heavy rainfall.
