I told Bibi – stop taking credit for the Dome, that’s our technology.

We did it for Israel.

Trump:

I realized that without us, it’s not Switzerland anymore. It’s not any of the countries that are represented here. And we want to work with them. We’re not looking to destroy them.

I could have said 39-40 percent. I could have said I want a 70% tariff — and then we would make money with Switzerland.

But Switzerland would have probably been financially destroyed. I don’t want to do that.

Trump:

I heard the word pandemic. And I had a poll come out that was so strong just prior to that. I was with the two best pollsters and they said, “Sir, if George Washington and Abraham Lincoln came back and ran as President and Vice President, they couldn’t beat you.”

And then what happened the following day? I was told, “Stay tuned, because there’s something really bad happening in China.” Bodies were laying all over. Wuhan — right around that certain building we talk about.

And there were body bags. We saw it by satellite, and they said there were very strange things happening in China.

Trump on Xi:

I have always had a very good relationship with Xi. He is an incredible man. What he has done is amazing. He is highly respected by everybody.

Our relationship was severely interrupted by Covid, I used to call it the China virus but he said, "do you think you could use a different name?"

And I decided to do that.

What often happens is this: we’ll have a deal with Russia ready, but President Zelensky won’t agree to it. You saw that when he was in the Oval Office — I wasn’t happy.

Then there are times when President Zelensky wants to make a deal, and Putin doesn’t want to make the deal.

It’s a very difficult balance.

I’m going to meet with Zelensky later today. I believe they’re at a point where they can come together and get a deal done.

And if they don’t, they’re stupid. That goes for both of them. And I know they’re not stupid — but if they don’t get this done, they are stupid.

Terror group PKK/PYD leader Ilham Ahmed to Israeli media:

What is happening right now should not be just Israel's problem.

if you want to help us, do it. Today is the right time.

Otherwise, there will no longer be any time to say, "we wanted to help but we couldn't."

I repeat; to anyone who wants to help stop the attacks against us, our door is open and we welcome them.

Germany's Der Spiegel on Syria:

Syria narrowly avoided a new civil war after the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

The immediate risk came from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the U.S.-backed, Kurdish-led militia that tried to retain control over Arab-majority areas in northeastern Syria even after the regime collapsed.

As Arab resistance grew and U.S. patience ran out, the SDF’s grip unraveled quickly.

Villagers returning to places like Abu Hamam described fear turning into relief:

“We don’t know what awaits us over there — maybe sleeper cells, maybe armed men.”

“But then they were simply gone.”

Across Raqqa, Tabqa, and nearby towns, people celebrated in the rain:

“Joy over the end of the occupation.”

The article challenges the Western image of the SDF as a democratic project under attack. Residents—Arab and Kurdish—describe an authoritarian system run by PKK-style cadres, where local councils had little real power.

A Kurdish teacher from Raqqa says:

“We believed the promises of democracy and human rights.”

“But after several years, I can only say: they lied to everyone.”

Reconstruction aid was allegedly diverted:

“Instead of hospitals and schools, the party built useless tunnels and new prisons.”

While Assad ruled, many Arabs accepted SDF control as the “lesser evil.” After Assad’s fall in December 2024, that calculation changed:

“Suddenly the country was free — and people wanted to be part of Syria again.”

The SDF refused integration into the new Syrian army and tried to preserve its de facto state, including control over oil, gas, and water infrastructure. A U.S.-brokered integration deal in March 2025 stalled completely.

U.S. officials complained that “the Kurdish cadres were blocking every agreement.”

The breaking point came in January 2026, when the SDF launched drone attacks and shelled Aleppo, even cutting the city’s water supply. Washington refused to intervene on their behalf.

“They had overplayed their hand.”

Arab fighters defected en masse, tribes pledged loyalty to Damascus, and the SDF withdrew from Arab areas. Transitional president Ahmed al-Sharaa outmaneuvered them politically.

As the article concludes:

“Ahmed al-Sharaa was the better tactician.”
