In 2023, the late Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham pushed to send U.S.-funded Iron Dome batteries to Ukraine to defend against Russian attacks.

A Reuters photo captured U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's notepad during a cabinet meeting showing a reminder: "To Do: Buy Japanese Yen (JPY) $5โ€“10 bil."

The note appeared shortly after Reuters reported the U.S. Treasury had warned banks it might intervene in currency markets.

If the U.S. follows through, it would be the first U.S. intervention to support the yen since 2011. The Treasury has not confirmed whether any purchases were actually made.

China is rapidly closing the satellite gap with the U.S., expanding its surveillance, navigation, and military space capabilities.

Its growing satellite network improves intelligence gathering, precision targeting, and tracking of U.S. forces, while advances in GPS alternatives, AI analysis, and anti-satellite weapons are raising concerns that Beijing could increasingly challenge U.S. military dominance in space.

Zelensky:

Last night, "Middle Strike" missiles were used, resulting in hits in the Black Sea and Azov Sea areas. Also, the Russian container ship "Yanina," which was sailing under the Russian flag and had a capacity of over 100,000 tons, was hit and sank.

Tonight, units of the Security Service of Ukraine struck the infrastructure of three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan. These plants process millions of tons of oil each year.

The Pentagon is handing leadership of NATO's Ukraine military aid coordination group to a European ally, marking another step in the Trump administration's effort to reduce the U.S. military role in Europe.

Support for Ukraine is expected to continue, but some Ukrainian officials worry that losing direct U.S. leadership could slow aid and reduce access to American intelligence and logistics.

The move is part of a broader push for European NATO members to take greater responsibility for the alliance.

Trump:

If Senators Cornyn and Tillis, both upset because I wouldnโ€™t Endorse them (they lost, and quit, respectively!), arenโ€™t going to approve Todd Blanche, one of the most respected professionals, according to everybody, in the Country, to be the United States Attorney General, then I will keep Todd as Acting A.G., and push hard to get the Anti-Weaponization Bill, which takes care of those who have been so badly treated by the Crooked Joe Biden (and Obuma!) Administration (I get nothing, although I was treated horribly!), PASSED.

Todd Blanche was a voice of reason! It will immediately be back on the table, and I will get it done.

Japan has established its first centralized intelligence agency since World War II, the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), to better coordinate intelligence, counter espionage, and respond to national security threats.

The reform is intended to fix long-standing weaknesses in Japan's fragmented intelligence system and may pave the way for an anti-spy law and a foreign intelligence service similar to the CIA or MI6.

Andy Burnham on Palestine:

There are potential measures that I'm looking at in terms of the settlements in the West Bank, and those will be looked at and announced in due course.

There's a really unjustifiable humanitarian disaster unfolding. We've got to be thinking about it every single day, looking at what more we can do and speaking truth about it.

The scale of the humanitarian catastrophe is unacceptable.

BIG: Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, the top U.S. commander in Europe, has warned the Pentagon that he no longer has enough Navy destroyers to keep protecting Israel from Iranian ballistic missile attacks while also meeting U.S. defense needs.

The destroyers, which have intercepted missiles targeting Israel, are stretched by operations in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and around Iran, while maintenance issues have further reduced availability.
