Unfortunately I am busy today and cannot give timely updates on voter presence and if any incidents happen during the vote.
In general, I expect the Action & Solidarity Party (PAS) to win with 50-52% of the vote. The amount of resources they and the EU spent on making this victory possible should leave no room for failure.
The elections weren't fair from the very beginning. It would be more honest if Maia Sandu declared herself "God-emperor" of Moldova and banned all elections.
The conditions for electoral propaganda and the fact that the Electoral Commission was staffed mostly by PAS members + the press, newspapers like Ziarul de Gardă, who were publishing exposés on PAS's enemies yesterday when electoral propaganda was forbidden, created such an unfair fight for the opposition, that it would be impossible for the opposition to win, regardless if the opposition parties are pro-Russian or unionist.
Even if by some miracle PAS does not win 50% of the vote, speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, made it very clear a few days ago that they will use every legal prerogative to have the votes recounted and if that doesn't work, declare them "sabotaged", null & void, following the Romanian model.
Grosu said that if PAS doesn't win 50% "they will be in opposition" meaning that they aren't interested in sharing power with other political formations.
On September 5th, former premier, Ion Sturza, an ally of PAS, gave insight about PAS' strategy in case of defeat in the elections. He said that Maia Sandu would categorically refuse to appoint a pro-Russian prime-minister, creating a constitutional crisis and deadlock in the government which would lead to snap elections.
Sturza then added that Moldova would follow the Bulgarian model where for 4 years, Bulgaria was stuck in a never-ending cycle of snap elections and governments with a short life. The snap elections would continue until PAS wins a parliamentary majority.
Lastly, a few months ago, PAS passed a law through the Moldovan Parliament which extended the powers of the Supreme Security Council (CSS) of Moldova. The CSS is a body led by the Moldovan president, convened by the Moldovan president during times of crisis, comprised of the most important statesmen, like the prime-minister, ministers of defense, justice, finances, internal and foreign affairs, the director of the intelligence services, the army chief and the president's national security advisor.
The CSS' meetings are secret and so are most of its decisions. The law which PAS passed made it a felony to refuse to enact the decisions of the CSS. These acts cannot be appealed in court nor can the CSS' members be held responsible for any damages the CSS' acts may cause because the CSS acts "only in the national interest" of Moldova.
Maia Sandu and PAS have prepared for the past few months their contingency plan in case of defeat however they do hope they won't have to put this contingency plan into action as it will derail Moldova's EU integration.

"About a year ago, while I was stuck in Paris, the French intelligence services reached out to me through an intermediary, asking me to help the Moldovan government censor certain Telegram channels ahead of the presidential elections in Moldova.
After reviewing the channels flagged by French (and Moldovan) authorities, we identified a few that clearly violated our rules and removed them. The intermediary then informed me that, in exchange for this cooperation, French intelligence would “say good things” about me to the judge who had ordered my arrest in August last year.
This was unacceptable on several levels. If the agency did in fact approach the judge — it constituted an attempt to interfere in the judicial process. If it did not, and merely claimed to have done so, then it was exploiting my legal situation in France to influence political developments in Eastern Europe — a pattern we have also observed in Romania
Shortly thereafter, the Telegram team received a second list of so-called “problematic” Moldovan channels. Unlike the first, nearly all of these channels were legitimate and fully compliant with our rules. Their only commonality was that they voiced political positions disliked by the French and Moldovan governments.
We refused to act on this request.
Telegram is committed to freedom of speech and will not remove content for political reasons. I will continue to expose every attempt to pressure Telegram into censoring our platform. Stay tuned.

Because this chart shows that our own replacement is already baked in. If you don’t have at least some ethnicity criteria for remigration we are going to become a minority in England.

Less than 52% voter presence. This is less mobilization than during the 2024 Moldovan presidential elections and similar with the 2021 Moldovan Parliamentary elections.
Over 1.3 million votes cast in Moldova proper and 264k votes cast in the diaspora.

1.3 million votes in Moldova, out of ~2.5 million is a pretty good mobilization rate but 264k votes in the diaspora is pretty terrible.
PAS put in a lot of effort to open as many polling booths in Europe and North America as possible but they got 60k votes less from the diaspora than they did in the 2024 presidential elections.
Those 60k missing votes could have done the difference.
In addition to missing diaspora votes, the voter mobilisation among 55+ year olds, who are largely anti-Western and nostalgic for the USSR, having grown up during the Moldovan SSR and remembering the money Soviet tourism used to bring, likely voted against PAS.

This move, appearing to be similar to the federalization of the California National Guard against the wishes of Governor Gavin Newsom back in June, was declared illegal and in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act by a federal judge in September.
