THURSDAY: Source Seminar — Biohacked by the Food Industry

A story of complexity: nutrition, brain and metabolism.

Nutritional therapist and clinical psychoneuroimmunologist Francesca Havens (🇦🇺) looks at the dietary and environmental changes in the last hundred years and how we have moved away from health. She pays particular attention to the impacts on mental health and human metabolism, taking closer looks at a couple of examples of major impacting influences from the contemporary environment like glyphosate and vegetable oils.

The discussion is supported with findings from medical studies showing the various ways in which the food industry has biohacked our minds, and opens to debate at the end to discuss proposed solutions.

"I would not rely 'on all our enemies fall over' as a strategy—it doesn't work," explained former Pfizer scientist Dr Mike Yeadon at General Assembly Meeting #66. "That's probably not a smart move."

"These are clever people, and I bet they've thought of three or four fall back options."

He added that "no one is coming to save us" and shared what he thinks we can do about it.

Dr Yeadon has more than 30 years of experience leading new medicine research in the pharmaceutical industry.
