⚡️BREAKING Operations Command of the Syrian Arab Army: • Army units will secure Al-Shaddadi Prison and its surroundings, in addition to sweeping the city of Al-Shaddadi, south of Hasakah Province, and nearby areas to arrest prisoners released by the SDF…
⚡️BREAKING

Statement issued by the Syrian government regarding attempts to politically exploit the terrorism file:

The Syrian government has followed the statement issued by the so-called “Autonomous Administration” on 17 January 2026, which contained a series of falsehoods and accusations aimed at misleading international public opinion and deliberately mixing facts.

Accordingly, the Syrian government, in response to these claims, affirms its categorical rejection of any attempt to use the terrorism file as a tool of political or security blackmail against the international community, and clarifies the following:

The Syrian government firmly rejects attempts at security blackmail in the terrorism file, and stresses that the warnings contained in the “Autonomous Administration” statement regarding ISIS prisons are nothing more than political exploitation of the terrorism card and a practice of pressure and security blackmail.

Insisting on linking law-enforcement actions and the restoration of state legitimacy to the risk of activating terrorist cells constitutes an exposed attempt to invert facts and inflame conflict in order to maintain an authority imposed by force of arms.

The Syrian government, through its military and security institutions, affirms its full readiness to carry out its duties in combating terrorism, within the framework of international efforts aimed at eliminating ISIS and other terrorist organisations.

The Syrian state also pledges to secure all detention centres in accordance with approved international standards, and to ensure that no detained ISIS elements escape or return to the field again, stemming from its responsibility toward its national security, regional security, and international peace and security.

In this context, the Syrian government warns the SDF leadership against taking any reckless steps that would facilitate the escape of ISIS detainees or open prisons to them as an act of retaliation or as a political pressure card.

Any security breach in these prisons will be the direct responsibility of the party currently controlling them, and the Syrian state will deal with any such act as a war crime and direct complicity with terrorism that threatens the security of Syria and the entire region.

The Syrian government also affirms that its military operations aim exclusively at restoring security and stability, protecting civilians, and preventing the return of terrorism in all its forms, while renewing its full commitment to the rules of international humanitarian law, the protection of vital facilities, and guaranteeing the rights of all Syrians without any discrimination.

The Syrian government stresses that the restoration of the state, with its legitimate institutions, and the enforcement of the rule of law over all Syrian territory is the only and final guarantee for definitively ending the ISIS file, closing the displacement and forced migration file, and rebuilding civil peace on the foundations of justice, full national sovereignty, and equal citizenship for all Syrians.

All Western client regimes in the Arab entities label anyone who opposes them as “ISIS,” “Islamist extremist,” or “terrorist.”

Many citizens in these Western colonies have been imprisoned simply for speaking about corruption, posting a comment in support of the Palestinian resistance, or filing a complaint against an official or officer over an injustice, only to be jailed instead of the real perpetrator.

There are many documented cases, to the point that one detainee in Egypt who was imprisoned as an “ISIS Islamist extremist” later turned out to be a Christian.!!

The real catastrophe is that some of those who are denied justice, thrown unjustly into these prisons, tortured, end up being brainwashed by actual ISIS terrorists inside the prisons cells and then recruited by them.

Oppression and the absence of justice generate terrorism, and some regimes manufacture terrorism themselves to use it as a political pretext.

In Afghanistan, ISIS was fighting the Taliban, and the Taliban were fighting the American occupation!

After liberation, ISIS was almost entirely wiped out by the Afghan army.

⚡️Fawza Youssef, a member of the SDF negotiating body, told Al Jazeera:

There is no political will for a ceasefire on the part of the government.

If the violations and attacks continue, it will be impossible to disarm the SDF forces.

We must protect ourselves against the attacks we are facing."

The agreement stipulates that the SDF will withdraw from Raqqa and Deir Ezzor within a month.

It's the Syrian government forces that are violating the agreement, not us.

There are no PKK elements among us, and the government forces include elements from the Islamic State organization.

⚡️A spokesperson for the Syrian Interior Ministry told Al Jazeera:

The SDF is facing an internal division problem and is trying to export it.

The SDF is manipulating the region's security after military and security failures.

We always prioritize peaceful solutions, and the SDF is trying to blame others for its internal failures.

We prioritize peaceful solutions, but all options are open under the guidance of the leadership

⚡️Minister and Cabinet member Miri Regev, in an interview with Kan Channel:

It is perfectly clear that there will be no Qatari or Turkish soldiers in Gaza, but we must remember that. Ultimately, our mission is very clear: first, to bring Ran Goli home to Israel; second, to demilitarize the Gaza Strip; and third, to disarm Hamas.

There is complete understanding between President Trump and the Prime Minister that this is what will happen in Gaza, and I say again, we will change Gaza, as we said on October 7th.

Gaza will not remain as it is today. This will happen through what we agreed upon. Twenty points were agreed upon with President Trump. It was agreed that in areas where the IDF is not present, all those areas will be demilitarized. Hamas will be disarmed. This is not just theory; it will happen, and President Trump is currently working on it.

I say again, no one believed that we would bring back all the hostages. Unfortunately, with God's help, they were brought back, and with God's help, Ran will also be brought home.

The events of October 7th were horrific, a profound catastrophe, a failure. Therefore, we are working with a commission of inquiry to examine this entire matter with complete transparency.

I want to tell you something: what is happening in Gaza is a reality no one imagined we would reach. The reality in Gaza today is changing, and it will never return to the way it was.

Regarding Qatar and Turkey, President Trump did not coordinate with the Prime Minister and made a decision contrary to the Prime Minister's position, who repeatedly explained his very clear stance that Qatar and Turkey cannot be part of the reconstruction of Gaza. We made it abundantly clear that Turkish and Qatari soldiers will not be in Gaza, nor will they be part of the force supposedly tasked with rebuilding Gaza.

The reconstruction of Gaza cannot be accomplished in a single day, and the disarmament of the Strip cannot be achieved in a single day. We said we would change the reality in Gaza, and that is what is happening.

⚡️Tzvi Yehezkeli – i24 News

The Americans continue to send troops to the region, and Netanyahu last night sent another threatening message. Now we are in a critical moment. I don't know how long this will last, nor what it means for Trump and the exercise of power.

Sometimes Trump sees surgical intervention, like removing Maduro from his bed or dragging Khamenei out of hiding, as a step that could topple the regime. It's not certain that this is the case in Iran.

In Iran, there is still a strong regime. It's true that it is fighting for its survival, and it's true that it is at its lowest point and weakest, but it still possesses considerable power and reserves. Therefore, we are still in the early stages.

The question, as always, revolves around Trump: Is he focused on those objectives, or does he still want to appease the other players in the Middle East, namely the Saudis and Qataris, who are friends of the Iranians?

⚡️i24 News:

Last Friday night, a large drone was detected by the Air Force's surveillance systems, heading towards Egypt, apparently to load and smuggle weapons.

An attack helicopter that was already on a flight in the area was scrambled and diverted to intercept the smuggling operation.

The pilot positioned himself on the drone in the air and received an order to fire, but due to a malfunction in the gun system, the launch failed.

After the attempted launch, an additional method was used to shoot down the drone, but this also failed.

Sources in the Israeli military say that this incident required quick decisions in the field, using a helicopter that was not initially prepared for interception.

Another source said that an investigation has been launched within the Air Force to determine why the interception failed.
