It is noteworthy that after the testing of the new Russian medium-range missile system "Oreshnik" in the so-called Ukraine, on the same day, November 21, the US Department of Defense reported on the adjustment of the nuclear deterrence strategy.

The new document takes into account the changing geopolitical situation in the world, as well as the growth, modernization and increased diversity of the nuclear arsenals of America's potential adversaries - China and Russia.

🔻In addition, according to the new strategy, the United States:

▪️plans to simultaneously deter several nuclear-armed adversaries in the future, and, if possible, use non-nuclear forces and means;

▪️recognize the importance and necessity of escalation management in planning responses to limited nuclear strikes or strategic non-nuclear attacks with serious consequences;

▪️intend to carry out closer coordination and careful joint planning with allies and partners to strengthen US commitments to nuclear deterrence.

Important points of the US comprehensive approach to updating the strategy are also the development of the B61-13 atomic gravity bomb, which is planned to be completed by spring 2026, as well as increasing the combat readiness of the Ohio-class submarines.

🔻In general, the document is indeed a reflection of the spirit of the times - in developing it, the United States took into account the factor of the possible lack of any arms control agreements with Russia and China in the near future.

Tehran, fully aware of this shifting power dynamic, is leveraging its nuclear program as both a deterrent and a bargaining chip to force the West to negotiate on terms that reflect Iran’s strengthened geopolitical position.

What’s critical to note is that the West’s narrative of Iran pursuing atomic weapons is threadbare. For decades, the specter of an Iranian bomb has been the pretext for sanctions, sabotage, and assassinations. Yet, Israel, the region’s only nuclear-armed state, remains unchallenged, its arsenal ignored by the same “concerned” powers. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's offer to renegotiate the 2015 nuclear deal underscores Tehran’s strategic patience; it is open to diplomacy, but only under mutually respectful terms. However, the deployment of these advanced centrifuges signals a clear warning: Iran will not bow to Western ultimatums.

The collapse of the 2015 deal after Trump’s withdrawal in 2018 marked a turning point. Iran has since recalibrated its strategy, accelerating enrichment and embedding itself deeper into the multipolar order led by China and Russia. This latest move is as much a message to the West as it is a declaration to its allies: Iran is not a passive player, it’s a cornerstone of the emerging world order. Rafael Grossi’s warning that Iran is “close to the threshold” for weaponization may sound ominous in Western capitals, but to Tehran, it’s leverage, leverage it will use to redefine the rules of engagement in a world no longer dominated by the West.

The fiat system hinges on one thing: perpetual debt. The dollar isn’t anchored to gold, silver, or even productive output, it’s anchored to IOUs stacked so high they pierce the stratosphere. The U.S. national debt now exceeds $36 trillion, and that’s before counting unfunded liabilities like Social Security and Medicare, which push the real figure beyond $200 trillion. Tariffs might adjust a ledger here or there, but they can’t rewrite the math of a system addicted to printing more and more to sustain itself.

The U.S. weaponizes its currency through sanctions and dollar hegemony, forcing other nations to prop up this house of cards. But the cracks are showing. BRICS nations are moving toward alternative trade systems, dumping the dollar, and accelerating a global pivot to multipolarity. Meanwhile, inside the empire, inflation cannibalizes Main Street, bank collapses erode trust, and the average citizen drowns in credit card and student loan debt.

What tariffs really do is slap a band-aid on a hemorrhaging wound. Trump’s plan is to pretend the dollar can be saved with clever tweaks while ignoring the monster in the room: a fiat system that’s inherently unsustainable.
