​Tonkeeper opens its doors to developers.

The Tonkeeper team has launched TON Connect, an open standard that allows users to log in to internet services securely and without login names and passwords.

TON Connect streamlines the sign-in process on many internet platforms by using Web3’s advantages.

Unlike centralized services, TON Connect does not use personal data and passwords that could be compromised.

All private information — e.g., credit card numbers — is encrypted with a key and is only accessible on the client’s device; even if there’s a leak, user information and data will always be hidden.

Sending Toncoin directly within Telegram

A new and convenient way to send Toncoin without transaction fees to any Telegram user. The @wallet bot can now be added to the attachments menu in chats. Now there’s no longer the need to enter long wallet addresses and wait for confirmations.

To start using the new function, open the @wallet bot and add it to the attachments menu in “Settings,” as shown in the pinned video.

To send Toncoin, all you need to do is complete these two steps:

1) Open a chat with another user, tap the “paperclip” icon to pull up the attachments menu, and tap “Wallet.”

2) Enter the amount of Toncoin and send it.

You’re all set. The Toncoin will be instantly transferred to the recipient’s wallet.

We’re excited that Telegram users can now easily transfer Toncoin by using this simple and convenient function.

We encourage our subscribers to test the new feature. Before using this function, you need to update Telegram to its newest version.

OKX has completed its work on changing Toncoin’s ticker.

We’re happy to announce that the OKX crypto exchange has completed the ticker-change migration from TONCOIN to TON, and soon, all operations in Toncoin will be back up and running as usual.

The exchange will begin accepting deposits tomorrow, April 28, starting at 3:00 am (UTC), and spot trading will resume two hours later at 5:00 (UTC).

TON withdrawals will be open starting April 29 at 9:00 am (UTC).

Spot trading for TON/USDT will reopen tomorrow, April 29, at 7:00 am (UTC).

The final Toncoin will be mined within the next two months.

Toncoin distribution commenced in July 2020, when any user could participate in mining the token on The Open Network without restrictions.

As of this writing, TON’s proof-of-work Giver contracts are almost entirely exhausted — there is only 12 million Toncoin left to mine.

We estimate that the final Toncoin will be mined at the beginning of summer, around June 16–19, after which all Toncoin will be in the hands of the users and will usher in a new phase in The Open Network’s growth.

The market of TON-based NFTs.

The publication of the TON DeFi standard sparked the rapid growth of the TON NFT market. Since then, there has been a flood of various collections on the market.

Today, we want to tell you about one of those projects: Disintar.io, one of the first NFT marketplaces in TON’s ecosystem.

On Disintar.io, users can buy, sell, and list NFTs without having any technical knowledge.

👨‍💻 Product development in the TON ecosystem

Below, we provide resources for those who want to start developing projects on TON but don’t know where to start.

Application and web service development includes front-end (user interface) and back-end (coding) elements. The interaction between the front-end and back-end happens via an API.

The back-end of decentralized applications differs from its Web2 counterparts; however, most technical principles are unchanged.

On blockchains, data processing is handled by smart contracts, self-executing code on a decentralized network working in tandem with algorithms that adhere to pre-determined conditions.

Smart contracts on The Open Network are written in the FunC programming language and are executed on The Open Network Virtual Machine (TVM).

APIs and SDKs are the gateways through which you can interact with blockchains.

Telegram Premium + TON = 📈

Last several weeks rumours about upcoming implementation of Telegram Premium subscription began circulating. And it’s already possible to touch the first concepts in iOS beta-version - extended list of reactions and premium stickers.

In test version users with premium subscription have icon ⭐️ in a profile.

Obviously, these are not all paid functions. When in the end of 2020 Durov announced plans of monetisation, it was about resource intensive functions like enlargement of uploaded files or extended statistics for channels.

What is interesting is that in 2021 the Telegram team tested inbuilt payments with bank cards, however it was not embodied.

A hitch was a governmental regulation - in this case official document flow and the same official payments gateways from the banks.

Paying with cryptocurrencies is a way out. And Telegram is ready for that as ever: the users hooked on animated stickers, crypto wallet is integrated and all active users of messenger have heard about TON.

​​​Be careful with the TON ticker

On some crypto exchanges and rating sites, such as CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap, you may come across some cryptocurrencies with the “TON” ticker symbol but have no connection to The Open Network.

Since 2018, a few projects based on the Telegram Open Network have launched tokens with the ticker “TON.”

This situation can undoubtedly confuse some in the community. So, to avoid making costly mistakes, users should remember two key things:

1. The full name of The Open Network’s native cryptocurrency is Toncoin, whose ticker symbol is TON.

You always have to make sure you’re handling Toncoin. Sometimes, next to the token’s name, the full name or the network’s name is written (as shown in the screenshot).

2. You’ll often see tokens that have a similar name, logo, and ticker symbol on different platforms, which may differ by a single letter.

Now that you have this information, it’ll be easy to avoid any confusion. There may be a few tokens with the “TON” ticker symbol, but there’s only one out there called Toncoin.

Toncoin trading became available at the same time on the following crypto exchanges:

BitMart: Trading is available in the TON/USDT pair.

Per CoinMarketCap, the exchange ranks eighth for daily trading volume at $6.4 billion.

HitBTC: Trading is available in the TONCOIN/USDT and TONCOIN/BTC pairs.

Toncoin listed on the MEXC crypto exchange

We’re happy to announce that one of Asia’s most well-known crypto exchanges has listed Toncoin for spot trading in the TON/USDT pair and will be supporting TON’s mainnet.

The platform ranks in the top 20 crypto exchanges on CoinMarketCap and is in the top 15 on CoinGecko for its daily trading volume of $2.2 billion.

​What’s a launchpad?

A launchpad is a platform that helps crypto startups to attract early-stage investing and funding.

Launchpads have become a popular means to raise money in the crytpoverse since they bring investors and project creators closer to collaborate.

On one side of the aisle, there are the creators of blockchain projects who want to make a public announcement about their new products and begin crowdfunding.

On the other side of the aisle are tokenholders who get the opportunity to invest in an idea that has the potential to transform into a big and profitable business.

Example:

Suppose a passionate team wants to launch a crypto exchange.

The team can go to a launchpad and announce its idea to the platform’s large audience. It would share details about what kind of experience the team members have, post its roadmap, exhibit features or functionalities, and make prototypes available for testing.

If the launchpad’s users believe the project has potential, they could buy the project’s tokens at a discounted price, and in exchange, the project’s founders would receive financing.
