πŸ“– We are baptists!
And we have nothing in common with the abomination known as the β€œCatholic Church.”

1 Peter 2:9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

✍🏻 James 2 is written to eternally saved believers - Christians!

πŸ€” What if my Bible-believing Pastor says things I disagree with?

Hebrews 13:17: "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." **

πŸ€”
What if my husband doesn’t do what I want?

Ephesians 5:22: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." **

πŸ€”
What if my boss treats me poorly?

Titus 2:9: "Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;" **

πŸ€”
What if my parents don’t let me do what I want?

Colossians
3:20: "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord." **

**
(there are no asterisks, loopholes, or fine print to these verses β€” just obey them)

πŸ—‘οΈ We don’t need to go outside the Bible to defend and prove the Bible β€” there is no higher authority than God’s word!

Hebrews 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself

1 John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

What does a biblical church do?

1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

πŸ’ͺ🏻 Don’t let some perceived weakness or lack of skill in some area stop you from serving the Lord. It is far better to rely on God’s power than on yourself.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10: "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

β›ͺ️ β€œYou cannot have a high view of Christ and a low view of church at the same time”

Every church is imperfect because they’re all filled with imperfect people, and you are definitely no better. Go to church as the Bible commands, serve, go soulwinning, be edified and encouraged.

Christians today are so distractedβ€”lost in noise, scrolling on screens, notifications and busyness and so on. Our attention is pulled in a dozen different directions.

✨However, Scripture calls us to devotion, not distraction.

David desired one thing: β€œOne thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple” (Psalm 27:4).

Mary chose it: β€œBut one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:42).

Paul pursued it: β€œBrethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).

πŸ“΄ Take some time to silence the noise and return to the one that matters: Christ.

🀯 It’s mind-blowing how gullible people can be to believe such an obvious fable as the β€œbook of Enoch.”

People that think it’s legit have never read it, and definitely have never read the Bible. They just have itching ears.

Genesis 6:4 KJV
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

1. There were Already giants
2. Sons of God = believers (Genesis 4:26)
3. Daughters of men = women from pagan groups (who would lead their hearts away to worship idols like in 1 Kings 11)
4. Mighty MEN =/= giants

πŸ“– Understanding the Chapters and Verses in Your Bible πŸ“–

Origin of Chapters:

Except for the Psalms, the chapter divisions we use today were introduced in the 13th century by Catholic pagan Stephen Langton, who divided the Latin Vulgate into chapters to make it easier to reference and study. These were later adopted into Hebrew and Greek texts.

Origin of Verses:
Robert Estienne (also known as Stephanus) introduced the verse system we use today in his 1551 Greek New Testament and 1553 French Bible. His 1555 edition of the Latin Vulgate was the first complete Bible to use the chapter and verse system we are familiar with today.

Helpful, But Not Inspired:
These divisions are obviously very useful for finding specific passages quickly and for structured study. However, they are not inspired by God and sometimes break up the natural flow of the text.

Try Reading Without Them:
To better understand the themes and context of Scripture, try reading entire books or large sections without focusing on the chapter and verse numbers. You’ll often see connections, repeated ideas, and the full argument or narrative being presented. How many bad arguments have you seen from verses taken out of context?!
