♦️ Colossians 2:6
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him

Contrary to what some false gospels proclaim, obedience to Christ after our salvation is not automatic. If it was, the various commands in Scripture would be unnecessary.

While this is specifically about Christmas, far too many Christians succumb to various silly superstitions, and live in fear of things that have no power. Too much internet is likely the cause.

2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Don’t let anyone tell you it’s β€œwrong” to celebrate the Lord’s birth.

Don’t wait until you’re old to start giving more to the Lord. Give Him more today.

Proverbs 21:25-26 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labor. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

β€œOf the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness." - Paul in 2 Corinthians 11

πŸ’ Why did he and all the apostles suffer, most ending with agonizing martyrdom?

Because Christianity is true, and the resurrection happened.

πŸ”ˆ Jesus fulfilled the Law which was given to highlight our sin and point us to Christ.

Believers are not at all under the Law which has been done away.

Acts 15:10 "Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?"

πŸ”Ž There is no pre-trib rapture.
πŸ”Ž There is one people of God (believers).
πŸ”Ž Salvation has always been by faith alone.
πŸ”Ž Heritage is irrelevant to salvation or future blessings.
πŸ”Ž A theological system should not be built upon a person’s personal β€œvision.”

Apparently, roughly 11% of American adults read the Bible daily.

πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Are they reading cover to cover, or just a few words from Psalm 117?

Of that 11%, how many actually study the Bible and take the time to understand each verse and each chapter?? Certainly it is a much smaller amount. Make sure you are someone who studies Scripture as well as reads it!

It’s ironic that those who reject the eternal security of the believer often accuse others of being β€œaccepting” of sin.

Christians who acknowledge Once Saved Always Saved preach hardest against sin, do the most soulwinning, work the most for the Lord, have purity in our churches etc. Why? Because we rest in the finished work of Christ and are free to serve Him out of love, not β€œdebt”.

Matthew 23:4 β€œFor they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."

πŸ›‘ Don’t be a Pharisee condemning fellow believers because they don’t do things the way you do them. You aren’t better than others because they don’t dress like you or serve in church like you. β€œYOU” do not decide the standard, God does, and every believer has the Holy Spirit working in them.

Is there blatant sin? Correct it.
Is there a lack of service? Encourage it.

Edify one another, don’t look down on one another.

Romans 14:4 "Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand."

If only Catholics would read more than a portion of a verse at a time… Peter was not β€œthe rock”.

β†˜οΈ
Just a few verses later….

Matthew 16:22-23 "Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savorest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

πŸͺΆ The New Testament of the KJV was translated from the Textus Receptus which is in the β€˜Majority Text’ family (Byzantine Text-Type) constituting the vast majority of manuscripts. The ESV/NASB/NIV etc are supported by a few discarded trash can manuscripts and form a β€˜frankentext’.

Stick with your KJV 🫑

🌧️ Some people simply do not want salvation. God has decreed for humanity to have free will.

John 5:6: "When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?"

"Neither the expression "invisible church" nor the idea of such an expression can be found in the New Testament.

The whole purpose of the "invisible church" dogma is to justify the Protestant splits from Roman Catholicism. But since Baptists are not Protestants and were never a part of the heretical Catholic system, we have no need of any such dogma to justify our existence.

Most Protestants and many ignorant Baptists suppose that Christ built two churches; that is, two kinds of churches: the "invisible church" of their own vain imagining and the organized assemblies that they cannot help recognizing in the New Testament. Then, to add insult to injury, they call their imaginary monstrosity the "true" church! But the Bible says there is only one body (church), that is, one kind of body, just as there is only one baptism, that is, one kind of baptism [Ephesians 4:4-5].

Since there is no just reason to do otherwise, we must understand that Jesus used the word, "church" in Matthew 16:18 in the same general sense that it has everywhere else in the New Testament: that is, an assembly, almost always an organized assembly. The word here is used abstractly; that is, it expresses an idea whose realization is to be found in a particular organized assembly." - Rosco Brong

🌊 Live for things that actually matter. Eternity is much longer than the next 5-10 years.

2 Peter 3:10-11: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,"

πŸ—’οΈ β€œSanctification” for the believer is a process of being set apart for the Lord. It begins the moment we are saved and is completed when the Lord returns and we receive our glorification.

This is not done all at one time but rather from grace to grace. John 1:16, "And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace." It is done from faith to faith." Romans 1:17, "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." It is done from glory to glory. II Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." - Jack Hyles

However, many believers will resist this process and quench the Holy Spirit, and grieve Him with disobedience, rebellion, and sin. God will discipline and chastise those that do (Hebrews 12:4-11).

1 Thessalonians 5:19: "Quench not the Spirit."

Ephesians 4:30: "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
