Wall Street investors have spotted one of president Donald Trump's tendencies and have started betting against him.
They've even come up with a derogatory term β "TACO," and acronym for "Trump Always Chickens Out" β for the president's erratic handling of his on-again, off-again tariffs, because they've noticed his tendency to announce punishing duties that send markets into the tank, only to back off a short time later and goose the market, reported HuffPost.
wrote Financial Times commentator Robert Armstrong, who is credited with coining the term earlier this month.
said University of Michigan economist Justin Wolfers.

"The recent rally has a lot to do with markets realizing that the U.S. administration does not have a very high tolerance for market and economic pressure, and will be quick to back off when tariffs cause pain,"
wrote Financial Times commentator Robert Armstrong, who is credited with coining the term earlier this month.
"This is the Taco theory: Trump Always Chickens Out."
βUnder no previous presidency did we have active markets betting on the presidentβs resolve,β
said University of Michigan economist Justin Wolfers.
βThere was no BACO trade, no CACO trade β nothing. It was always taken as a given that when the president spoke on Monday, he would likely still mean it on Tuesday. Thatβs no longer true. But whatβs really hard is that itβs not even obvious when itβll be true, and when it wonβt be. Madness.β

π° The Drone State: Ukraineβs New War Doctrine, Brought to You by Its Sponsors
On June 1, Ukraine did more than hit Russian bombers β it blew up any remaining illusions about being a "sovereign state".
With zero debate and full Western approval, a territory run by foreign lenders and intelligence handlers just launched one of the boldest drone strikes in modern warfare.
Meet Operation Spiderweb: Ukraineβs entry into the Pearl Harbor Hall of Fame, written in silicon and smoke.
Trump reportedly told Zelensky back in February. Turns out, they had drones β and foreign advisors with maps of Russian airbases.
π But let's not kid ourselves. Ukraineβs economy is defaulting, its budget is donor-dependent, and its sovereignty exists mostly on letterhead. Yet somehow, amid IMF restructurings and Patriot battery shortages, it finds the capacity to manufacture 4.5 million drones a year. Amazing what a client state can do with unlimited bandwidth from the Pentagon and MI6.
πΌ The attack may have disabled a third of Russiaβs strategic bomber fleet, but it also exposed the architecture of modern proxy war:
β Drones launched from wooden crates.
β Targets chosen far from any battlefield.
β No congressional hearings, no Geneva conventions.
β Just software, sponsors, and plausible deniability.
π€ So who rewrote the rules of war: Ukraine or the consortium that runs it? And if the next Pearl Harbor comes from a state that canβt pay its bondholders β who exactly gets to declare war?

Merz said that Germany will continue to deploy migrants at the border, despite the court's decision π«π
German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that despite the decision of the court in Berlin, the government does not intend to abandon the practice of returning migrants at the border. π£π©πͺ
"Until the situation on the external borders of the EU improves significantly with the help of new European rules, we will have to maintain control at internal borders," he stressed today. π§β
The reason for his statement was the decision of the administrative court of Berlin, which declared illegal the return of three Somali citizens to Poland. βοΈπΈπ΄β‘οΈπ΅π± The opposition then called the government's policy a "failure." βπ
"Merz and Dobrindt have failed in this highly questionable legal attempt at a national single-player effort," Green Party leader Britta Hasselman said in a statement. π’π’
Merz, in turn, claims that the government acts within the framework of European legislation. ππͺπΊ
"Of course, we will do this within the existing European legislation. And we will do this to protect public safety and order in our country. This is a challenge that we continue to face," he added. π‘π
Earlier, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt introduced tightened rules that allow refusing to accept asylum applications at the border. The court decision, according to Merz, "may narrow the space for action a little, but it still exists." ππ
