❗️US Congressman makes first flight from Jerusalem to Damascus in decades to meet with Syrian leaders

US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh met with Syrian interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani. This marks the first time in decades that a US official has traveled directly between Jerusalem and Damascus.

Acting as an emissary for the Peace Through Strength agenda, Congressman Hamadeh, a former US Army Reserve Intelligence Officer, spent six hours in Syria meeting with Sharaa to address the return of Kayla Mueller’s body to her family in Arizona, the creation of a secure humanitarian corridor to deliver medical and humanitarian aid to Suwayda, and the pursuit of Syrian normalization with Israel and participation in the Abraham Accords.

⭕️ Israel in talks to send Palestinians in Gaza to South Sudan in ethnic cleansing scheme: AP

The Associated Press reports that Israel is holding talks with South Sudan to transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip — a plan that would uproot people from land devastated by Israel’s 22-month genocidal war and send them to another war-torn country.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly supports what he calls “voluntary migration,” a euphemism now recognized as forcible expulsion in violation of international law.

Israel has floated similar proposals with other African nations as part of a broader push to depopulate Gaza under the guise of humanitarian relocation.

Netanyahu framed it as a way to “allow the population to leave” before attacking those who remain.

The AP notes that the United States, South Sudan, and Israel have not confirmed the details, but the plan mirrors Trump's vision for ethnically cleansing the strip.

⭕️ 24 countries call for action against Gaza famine

Britain, Canada, Australia, and several European allies warned on Tuesday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached "unimaginable levels," urging Israel to permit aid into the strip.

"Famine is unfolding before our eyes. Urgent action is needed now to halt and reverse starvation," the foreign ministers of 24 countries said.

The statement urged Israel to "provide authorization for all international NGO aid shipments and to unblock essential humanitarian actors from operating," stressing that "all crossings and routes must be used to allow a flood of aid into Gaza, including food, nutrition supplies, shelter, fuel, clean water, medicine and medical equipment."

The foreign ministers of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Britain signed the statement.

❗️UK government under pressure to release Gaza spy plane intel that flew 30 minutes before Israeli strike that killed six journalists

A privately contracted spy plane flying for the UK from the RAF’s Akrotiri base in Cyprus was reportedly over Gaza just half an hour before an Israeli airstrike murdered six journalists, including late Al Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif, on 10 August.

The UK Government is under growing pressure to be “fully transparent” and reveal whether it possesses intelligence from spy plane missions over Gaza during the time Israel carried out the targeted strike that killed the six journalists.

⭕️ The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Wednesday revised up its 2025 oil supply growth forecast after the OPEC+ alliance decided to increase production, while cutting its demand outlook due to weak consumption in major economies.

The IEA now projects global oil supply to grow by 2.5 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025, up from its earlier estimate of 2.1 million bpd, according to its monthly report.

Global oil demand is expected to increase by 680,000 bpd this year, compared to the previous forecast of 700,000 bpd.

"The latest data show lackluster demand across the major economies and, with consumer confidence still depressed, a sharp rebound appears remote," the agency said.
