The Syrian government confirms that since yesterday night, it has officially notified the American side of the intention of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to withdraw from their positions in the vicinity of Al-Hol camp, which necessitated an immediate response to address any potential security gap that might arise.

The Syrian government has also assured the American side and the concerned parties of its full and direct readiness to take over those positions and manage them security-wise, in order to ensure the stability of the camp and prevent any attempts to exploit this withdrawal by terrorist organizations.

Despite the clarity of the arrangements and the sensitivity of the timing, we have observed a deliberate delay by the SDF in completing the handover process, which indicates an attempt to confuse the situation and export a new security crisis in the region.

The Syrian government holds the SDF leadership fully responsible for any repercussions that may result from this deliberate delay, and we confirm that we will not allow any security vacuum that threatens the safety of the region.

We also call on the American side to assume its responsibilities to press for the completion of the handover process without further delay.

No country has the right to take over the territory of another.

Not in Ukraine. Not in Greenland. Not anywhere in the world.
