Cloudflare WAF blocks critical unauthenticated RCE and SQLi in WordPress

Cloudflare has deployed specialized Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules to mitigate two high-severity vulnerabilities discovered in the WordPress core. These flaws include a critical unauthenticated remote code execution (RCE) bug in the REST API and a high-severity SQL injection vulnerability. The protections are available to all Cloudflare users, including those on free plans, provided their traffic is proxied through the network edge.

Flathub’s AI slop ban looks like it was the right call

When Flathub banned AI-coded app submissions last month, some critics warned the platform was denying the future by dismissing a new wave of “vibe-coded” software as out-and-out “slop”. Nvidia publishes first N1X GPU drivers for Windows 11 Arm RTX Spark PCs

Nvidia has begun releasing Windows 11 Arm64 GPU drivers for its N1X processor used in upcoming RTX Spark systems, with the initial version 616.00 package optimized specifically for the Surface RTX Dev Box rather than general consumer hardware. The native Arm64 installer includes the nv_surface_woa.inf file that defines supported devices, listing two RTX Spark N1X GPU variants based on Blackwell architecture with 6144 and 5120 CUDA cores plus an unidentified desktop device entry. The same package also registers NVIDIA NPU components via Deep Learning Accelerator device IDs, confirming integrated AI acceleration support in the platform.

Опубликован выпуск проекта D7VK 2.0, развивающего реализацию графических API Direct3D 3, 5, 6 и 7, предложенных компанией Microsoft в 1996, 1997, 1998 и 1999 годах. D7VK работает через трансляцию вызовов в API Vulkan и позволяет при помощи Wine запускать в Linux ретро игры, завязанные на API Direct3D 3, 5, 6 и 7. Код проекта написан на языке C++ и распространяется под лицензией Zlib. В качестве основы при разработке использован код бэкенда d3d9 от проекта DXVK - D7VK преобразует API Direct3D 3, 5, 6 и 7 в вызовы Direct3D 9, которые затем транслируются в API Vulkan. Разработчик не намерен добиваться включения D7VK в состав DXVK, как это было с реализациями Direct3D 8 и Direct3D 9 поверх Vulkan.

Возобновлена работа над ОС NextBSD, сочетающей технологии FreeBSD и macOS

Началась работа над возрождённым проектом NextBSD, нацеленным на создание операционной системы, использующей технологии macOS, такие как системный менеджер launchd, механизм межпроцессного взаимодействия Mach IPC и библиотека диспетчеризации параллельного выполнения задач libdispatch, поверх современной кодовой базы FreeBSD. 7-Zip 26.02 patches RCE flaw triggered by malicious XZ archives

7-Zip version 26.02 addresses a remote code execution vulnerability tracked as CVE-2026-14266 that stems from a heap-based buffer overflow when processing specially crafted XZ-compressed data. An attacker can trigger the flaw if a user opens a malicious archive or visits a page delivering a crafted XZ payload, allowing arbitrary code to run with the privileges of the logged-in user. The issue was disclosed by researcher Landon Peng and detailed in a Zero Day Initiative advisory, with the patch adding checks to prevent the decoder from writing beyond available buffer space.

Microsoft makes passkeys default and retires SMS MFA by 2027

Microsoft Entra ID will make passkeys the default authentication method beginning September 1, while Microsoft-provided SMS and voice multifactor authentication will be retired in February 2027. Organizations that still require telephony-based MFA after that date must obtain it from a third-party telecom provider. The shift requires tenants to revise MFA rollout and migration plans well ahead of the cutoffs.
