Chinese artificial intelligence companies are rapidly closing the gap with US-based models in the specialized field of cybersecurity. Zhipu AI recently released GLM-5.2, an open-weight model that researchers claim can match Anthropic’s Mythos in identifying software bugs and security flaws. While these Chinese models still trail in general reasoning tasks, their proficiency in detecting vulnerabilities has raised concerns regarding national security and the potential for automated cyberattacks.

Every wondered what GIMP looked like in 1996, before GTK? Well, now you can. Developer balooii has packaged GIMP 0.54 as a Flatpak that runs on modern 64-bit Linux desktops with Wayland. It’s apparently the earliest version of the app with the source code still available to build. It’s not an official GIMP effort, but an enthusiast project hosted on the GNOME GitLab. Google throttles Meta access to Gemini AI models due to infrastructure strain

Google has reportedly restricted Meta's access to its Gemini artificial intelligence models after the social media giant requested more computing capacity than Google could provide. This limitation, which began around March, has disrupted and delayed several of Meta's internal AI development projects. Релиз античит-инструментария TLAC 2.0

Доступен выпуск проекта TLAC 2.0 (Tuncor Local Anti-Cheat), развивающего открытую античит-систему для Linux, работающую в пространстве пользователя. Для выявления вмешательства в выполнение игровых процессов в TLAC применяется сканирование типовых шаблонов читов в памяти процесса при помощи ptrace и procfs. Поддерживаются такие возможности как поиск по маскам, контроль целостности по хэшам SHA256, аппаратная блокировка при помощи HWID и хранение настроек в формате JSON. Код написан на языке Rust с использованием асинхронного фреймворка Tokio для IPC и распространяется под лицензией MIT.
