AI coding agents vulnerable to stealthy malware execution via GitHub

Security researchers have demonstrated a new attack method that tricks autonomous AI coding agents into executing malicious payloads from seemingly clean GitHub repositories. The technique exploits the agent's goal-oriented behavior, where it automatically attempts to resolve setup errors by running suggested initialization commands. Because the repository contains no actual exploit code, the malicious activity remains invisible to traditional static scanners and human reviewers.

Анонимный исследователь безопасности опубликовал в открытом доступе прототипы 23 эксплоитов, в которых задействованы ещё не исправленные (0-day) уязвимости в таких проектах, как FFmpeg, VLC, Firefox, Docker, PHP, OpenVPN, nmap, libssh2, nghttp2, 7zip, Ghidra, Gitea, c-ares, Floci, Flowise, ImageMagick, Lunar Client, MyBB, objdump и RustDesk. Уязвимости были выявлены в результате fuzzing-тестирования проектов с привлечением AI-модели GPT-5.5-3-Codex-Spark. Утверждается, что все эксплоиты, за исключением эксплоита к RustDesk, были написаны вручную, но вся сопроводительная документация к ним сгенерирована через AI.

Команда разработчиков ЯП Rust недавно объявила о создании Rust Commercial Network.
Цель проекта - создание централизованной информационной площадки для взаимодействия между коммерческими организациями - работа которых зависит от кода на Rust - и непосредственными разработчиками ЯП Rust.
Создаются соответствующие рабочие группы, которые будут обсуждать проблемы соответствующей части ЯП, предлагать идеи, вместе с бизнесом думать над решением реальных проблем, всевозможных недостатков как компилятора, так и прочей экосистемы ЯП.
Ну и, разумеется, в процессе обсуждения будут выясняться фронты работ, требующие дополнительных инвестиций.
Членство бесплатное для коммерческих фирм, научных институтов и иных организаций, желающих использовать Rust в своих информационных системах. При этом не обязательно быть членом Rust Foundation.
В RCN уже вступили такие гиганты ИТ-индустрии, как MS, Google, Amazon WS, JetBrains, Canonical, OpenAI.

Every wondered what GIMP looked like in 1996, before GTK? Well, now you can. Developer balooii has packaged GIMP 0.54 as a Flatpak that runs on modern 64-bit Linux desktops with Wayland. It’s apparently the earliest version of the app with the source code still available to build. It’s not an official GIMP effort, but an enthusiast project hosted on the GNOME GitLab. It’s also something of a work-in-progress package of an ancient work-in-progress beta release, with the maintainer promising more plugins and tutorials in time. Google throttles Meta access to Gemini AI models due to infrastructure strain

Google has reportedly restricted Meta's access to its Gemini artificial intelligence models after the social media giant requested more computing capacity than Google could provide. This limitation, which began around March, has disrupted and delayed several of Meta's internal AI development projects. While other Google Cloud customers have faced similar constraints, Meta's exceptionally high demand for inference power made it the most significantly impacted client.
