CANCELLATION OF BOTH SHOWS

We are devastated to do this, but to our greatest sadness, we have to.
It was an absolutely heart-wrenching decision.
The reason that left us no choice was a threat to the safety of our guests and performers.

Yesterday in Batumi our venue was under attack. A crowd of people right in front of the entrance was yelling homophobic and nationalist slogans, splashing water and throwing plastic bottles at our staff and managed to strike one of our staff in the back of the head. These people were brutal and cruel, all of their actions full of hate towards the LGBTQIA+ community.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, and our guests, crew and cast were safely escorted out of the venue. The police helped us and held back the attackers, but of course we had to cancel the event.
Safety will always be our top priority, there is no other way.

Such violence towards the LGBTQIA+ community is unacceptable but is getting more and more common and normalized in Georgia.

Many of our performers fled their homes to finally be treated fairly and equally, have basic human rights and freedoms. However, they are still attacked for simply expressing themselves.
Queer art is important. It won’t be silenced by ignorance and hatred.
We will keep fighting for the brightest future - and the most beautiful art we can imagine.
