⚡️Late August Transaction Delays: STON.fi's Breakdown of Events

Stonfiers! As you know, on August 26-28, TON Blockchain experienced serious disruptions and completely halted operations twice. We've published a post-mortem detailing the causes of these events and our action plan moving forward.

Here's a quick rundown of what happened:
1️⃣ On August 26, millions of DOGS users began claiming tokens, thus creating an increased load on the network.
2️⃣ The large number of cross-shard messages and the transaction prioritization principle led to transactions queuing up faster than validators could process them.
3️⃣ The combination of these factors resulted in transaction processing delays of up to three hours.
4️⃣ Our team has developed an action plan to better adapt the DEX to sharding and cross-shard messages.

We will:

👉 Add a deadline parameter, which will return tokens to the user's wallet if a transaction takes too long to process.
👉 Reduce the number of messages in a single swap/refund transaction from the current 8 to 5, which will improve overall performance.
👉 Deploy additional routers across different blockchain shards. Even if a queue forms in one shard due to high transaction volume, it will affect the operations speed only in some pools.
👉 Implement a new architecture without central router contracts to distribute the load more evenly across the network.

STON.fi developers and those dreaming of launching their own project on TON — this news is for you! We've released a major update to the STON.fi SDK 2.0, a special tool for integrating the features of our DEX into any DeFi project on the TON blockchain.

What's new?
🗿 SDK 2.0 now supports working with mintless tokens. It is a token based on the latest technology 'Mintless Jetton'. It can be distributed in any amount among users without creating a smart contract, which means no transaction fees. Token minting occurs after the first user operation with the token.

🗿 SDK 2.0 also introduces a transaction deadline feature. If a transaction remains in the queue for more than 30 minutes, it is automatically canceled, and the tokens are returned to the owner. This will help reduce the load on the blockchain and enhance trading security.

Here’s what you can do on STON.fi V2 right from the start:

1. Quickly and securely swap tokens with minimal fees. This feature has been available since the very first version of STON.fi.

2. Create a liquidity pool and supply liquidity in a single operation. Now, your tokens are fully protected from "snipers" — bots that search for fresh pools and send tokens to manipulate the price. The new interface in the Pools tab will make all liquidity operations even simpler and more accessible for beginners.

3. Flexibly set referral fees when integrating STON.fi DEX with the use of SDK into your product. This feature is useful for developers, allowing them to fine-tune their solutions for different business needs.

The familiar STON.fi operated on original smart contracts developed back in 2022. The new STON.fi V2 smart contracts meet all the demands of modern trading — it's 2024 now, and we are keeping up with the times.

And here are the features to be added a bit later:

1. New types of liquidity pools. How about a specialized pool for tokens with similar values? Or a unique pool that allows you to provide liquidity in any token ratio (like 80% of one token and 20% of another)? You heard it right — this will soon be possible right here on STON.fi DEX.

2. If you are still not impressed enough, imagine providing liquidity with just one token instead of two… and withdrawing the provided liquidity in a token or ratio you choose. No liquidity providers have seen such flexibility before!

3. More combined transactions. Imagine providing liquidity and farming in just one transaction. Twice as fast, twice as simple, and twice as cheaper — one blockchain fee instead of two.

4. Routing. The algorithm will automatically find the most efficient token routes, regardless of whether the necessary liquidity pools are available on our DEX. By trading on STON.fi, you will interact with all tokens available on TON.

Stonfiers! Large-scale projects with a big audience, such as Hamster Kombat, inevitably attract scammers. Our chat moderators and support team respond swiftly to troublemakers. However, it's helpful for everyone to know the basic safety rules in DeFi.

Here's what you should always remember:

1️⃣ Don't click on suspicious links you see in your wallet, and don't connect your wallet to unknown services. For example, scammers might leave a link with an offer to make money in a transaction comment. There’s a 100% chance it's a scam.

2️⃣ Don’t respond to private messages from supposed «STONfi support staff». STON.fi employees never contact you first. Report to us if someone claims to be a moderator or security staff member and asks you for anything.

3️⃣ Verify tokens by their contract address. Sometimes a fake token can have a name very similar to a popular asset's. To ensure the token’s authenticity, compare the official contract address provided by developers with the contract address of the token you intend to trade.
