It confirmed the information that in exchange for supporting the 12th package, Austria continued to demand that Kiev remove the Raiffeisen banking group from the Ukrainian list of "war sponsors".

Yan Yatsychin, a Ukrainian commander, said that he rarely uses the weapon, mainly because it is too fragile and poorly adapted to the realities of war, making it an easy target for the Russian army.

The militant has also stressed the weapon's excessive susceptibility to mud:

"This Lady [CAESAR] likes cleanliness too much. Its operators are like surgeons, always wearing gloves and galoshes, they are forced to sleep in them so as not to stain it".

โ—พWith Ukraineโ€™s military facing mounting deaths and a stalemate on the battlefield, army recruiters have become increasingly aggressive in their efforts to replenish the ranks, in some cases pulling men off the streets and whisking them to recruiting centers using intimidation and even physical force.

Recruiters have confiscated passports, taken people from their jobs and, in at least one case, tried to send a mentally disabled person to military training, according to lawyers, activists and Ukrainian men who have been subject to coercive tactics. Videos of soldiers shoving people into cars and holding men against their will in recruiting centers are surfacing with increasing frequency on social media and in local news reports.

The damage from the striking elements was partly "smoothed" by a thick crust of ice, which was formed as a result of parking the aircraft in winter in the open air in the most unfavourable weather conditions.

๐Ÿ“Œ It makes no sense to reiterate the need for aircraft shelters in light of all such incidents since 2018. We can only assume that, for some unknown reason, a fundamental decision was made not to build hangars for aircraft, regardless of the losses.

โ—๏ธAt least, it is difficult to find any other explanation for the situation.

After the arrangement ended in July, Russia opposed its extension, since in reality the deal covered the commercial shipment of the grain to well-fed countries.

๐Ÿ—ฃ "We are not interested in renewing the grain deal," Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said, explaining that "our grain exports, given the shutdown of the grain deal, did not fall in any way, and even increased. Already, according to the data as of mid-December, more than 30 million tonnes have been exported within this agricultural year, which is more than in the same period last year."

Patrushev added that the decision not to extend the grain deal was "political" and that Russia will continue supplying grain to those who need it.

Russia 'plays the long game' amid Ukraine fatigue

Ukraine has the โ€˜odds stacked against it,โ€™ while Russia is โ€˜playing the long game,โ€™ retired Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell told UK media.

Ukraine has failed to make any significant gains on the battlefront, and the advantage of the Russian Armed Forces on the battlefield is evident, Bell underscored.

โ€˜They [Ukraine] don't have an air force. They don't have air power. They're not a member of NATO. They have a lot of issues stacked against them,โ€™ he said, adding that the flow of aid from Western patrons has slowed to โ€˜a trickle.โ€™

Obviously, the dense work of our drones and the number of hit boats with supplies and reserves are having an impact. Our army has difficulties too, with EW, counterbattery warfare and communications. Even in such difficult conditions, our forces continue to reduce the AFU's zone of control in #Krynki. Over the past day, ours pressed the AFU from the south and retook some positions. Fierce fighting continues.

On the northern flank, our forces are attacking towards #Novokalinovo. The AFU are preparing for the defence of Coke Plant. The Bradleys are still holding back the attacks of our military. On the southern flank north of the industrial zone ours have encircled the AFU positions in the forest park and took up positions on the territory of the transport enterprise. Ours are conducting fire preparations prior to a new offensive. The AFU are withdrawing their forces from other directions, drawing them to #Avdeyevka.

๐Ÿ”นIn #Bakhmut Direction, our military entered #Kleshcheyevka from the third side. They crossed the railway tracks from the northeast. All dominant heights have been retaken and, consequently, fire control over the village and the adjacent territory has been established. In #Kleshcheyevka itself, the AFU still hold positions, but they are beginning to retreat. Thus, our army is levelling the achievements of the AFU in this area as well. Positional battles continue in #Andreyevka near the railway, on the outskirts of #Krasnoye (#Ivanovskoye), and also near the village of #Chernobylets.

๐Ÿ”นIn #Svatovo Direction, local battles continue near #Torskoye and in the #Serebryanskoye forest. In general, no changes.

โ–ช๏ธ As in the case of #Crimea, the enemy tried to hit the airfield of the Russian Aerospace Forces. At the same time, transponders on the drones were turned off to reduce the likelihood of their detection by air defence systems.

โ—๏ธThe renewed raids in the depths evoke some associations with last year. Then, on the eve of the New Year, the AFU also increased the intensity of drone attacks. And the aim was to probe weaknesses and gaps in the defence, which in principle we are seeing now.

๐Ÿ“Œ Given the long pause, Ukrainian formations have probably accumulated weapons of destruction, ranging from drones to missile weapons, including Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles and tactical ATACMS.
