Nasdaq 100 ends week at record high amid Fedโs rate decision
The US central bank left the benchmark interest rate unchanged as policymakers refused to raise rates further, instead outlining three rate cuts for next year.
Amid this the Nasdaq 100 closed at an all-time high - the last time it traded at a record price was two years ago.
The S&P 500 index and the tech-heavy gauge index showed a seven-week series of wins.
And here is how some of the major currencies performed today:
- The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index rose 0.4%
- The euro fell 0.9%
- The British pound fell 0.7%
- The Japanese yen fell 0.2%

The same amount of Western aid to the enemy is not expected in the near future, but Ukraine's masters are not cancelling the task of inflicting lasting damage on #Russia. Kiev in 2023 has stepped on the same rake as Moscow did in early 2022. Underestimation of the enemy, a long period of "beautiful reports", and hat-trickery in the media. The latter is leading in #Ukraine to a gradual epiphany of part of the enemy's population, but in the wrong direction. For them, we remain the enemy, and it is all the fault of specific Zelensky, who should be replaced by Zaluzhny, and everything will get better. Contributing to this sentiment are the massive hits on Zelensky in the Western media, whose headlines directly link the failures of the AFU to the name of the Ukrainian president.
๐นIn #Russia and around the world, many followed the Supreme Leader's speech at the direct line, whose individual responses indicated that information was delivered to him in a "smoothed form." Emotions among military bloggers were aroused by the words with reference to the military department about "only sanitary losses" of the RF Armed Forces near the ill-fated #Krynki. โช๏ธ #Kherson direction without significant changes. The enemy in wiped out #Krynki even tried to intensify, hitting the rear areas with barrel artillery and MLRS HIMARS. It organised mass raids on the region and neighbouring #Crimea with its UAVs, but failed to achieve its goals. They are facing problems on the frontline in manpower and have urgently started to transfer personnel from Territorial Defence to the Marines. In the Western and Ukrainian press, the failed AFU operation is explained by Zelensky's personal PR, which is achieved at the expense of losses.
โช๏ธ On the #Zaporozhye front, the Russians began to squeeze the enemy near #Rabotino in local battles. At #Verbovoye there are counter battles. Units of the 7th Air Assault Division carry out daring raids by armoured vehicles on AFU positions. Here, as in the #Kherson region, our aviation carries out constant strikes with FABs and UMPCs on the enemy's rear.
โช๏ธ #Maryinka has been taken, and the outskirts are being cleared. The movement of the Russian Army from the city to the south, to the #Pobeda settlement, has become important. The simultaneous activation of our troops in the direction of #Novomikhaylovka indicates a plan to reach #Ugledar from the northeast. The AFU prepare also for defence in #Kurakhovo, west of #Maryinka.
โช๏ธ The Russian Army after heavy fights broke into the outskirts of #Avdeyevka, remnants of the enemy are being eliminated in the #Vinogradniki cottage village near the industrial zone. At the neck of the "Avdeevka sack" our control zone is gradually expanding, the enemy is redeploying troops from other parts of the front and moving them to the city. The fighting is fierce and bloody.
โช๏ธ In the #Artyomovsk direction our troops advance towards Chasov Yar. The town should be taken from the north due to the terrain. Battles are taking place at #Bogdanovka, #Khromovo, #Kleshcheyevka. Offensives north of #Soledar were reported.
โช๏ธ Near the #Torskoye ledge, in the #Serebryanskoye forestry and in the #Kupyank sector, local battles are taking place.

๐นOn the #Donetsk Front, the RF AFU managed to make a significant advance from the south towards #Novomikhaylovka and reach the outskirts of the village. โ ๏ธ The fighting is taking place over the AFU stronghold, which has been impregnable since the beginning of the conflict. Now the Ukrainian positions in it are "hanging". The RF Armed Forces are also trying to storm another fortified area of the AFU in #Pobeda,โ ๏ธ with no promotion yet.โ ๏ธ Russian troops took new positions in the area of the industrial zone southeast of #Avdeyevka. They also conducted assault operations in #Stepovoye (not to be confused with the settlements of the same name in the Zaporozhye and Ugledar directions) and near #Novokalinovo. (Fig. 2)

๐ซ๐ท The French CAESAR self-propelled howitzers are too fragile, an AFU militant has complained to Le Monde.
Yan Yatsychin, a Ukrainian commander, said that he rarely uses the weapon, mainly because it is too fragile and poorly adapted to the realities of war, making it an easy target for the Russian army.
The militant has also stressed the weapon's excessive susceptibility to mud:
"This Lady [CAESAR] likes cleanliness too much. Its operators are like surgeons, always wearing gloves and galoshes, they are forced to sleep in them so as not to stain it".

โพWith Ukraineโs military facing mounting deaths and a stalemate on the battlefield, army recruiters have become increasingly aggressive in their efforts to replenish the ranks, in some cases pulling men off the streets and whisking them to recruiting centers using intimidation and even physical force.
Recruiters have confiscated passports, taken people from their jobs and, in at least one case, tried to send a mentally disabled person to military training, according to lawyers, activists and Ukrainian men who have been subject to coercive tactics. Videos of soldiers shoving people into cars and holding men against their will in recruiting centers are surfacing with increasing frequency on social media and in local news reports.

The damage from the striking elements was partly "smoothed" by a thick crust of ice, which was formed as a result of parking the aircraft in winter in the open air in the most unfavourable weather conditions.
๐ It makes no sense to reiterate the need for aircraft shelters in light of all such incidents since 2018. We can only assume that, for some unknown reason, a fundamental decision was made not to build hangars for aircraft, regardless of the losses.
โ๏ธAt least, it is difficult to find any other explanation for the situation.

In Exodus 23:27-33 the God of the Hebrew-speaking people following Moses gives a command to ethnically cleanse not only Palestine, but most of the Middle East. Judging Mr. Netanyahu and his war cabinet by their deeds, we can see an uncanny resemblance of their actions in Palestine to those actions that were commanded of the followers of Moses with regard to the greater part of the Middle East. It does not seem far-fetched to assume that the Zionist government leadership is actually acting in the misguided belief that it is carrying out the will of God. Worldwide, only a small, yet influential minority, would agree with them. I personally reject the relevant Biblical passage as representing the true will of God in today's world. Moreover, there is a significant amount of archeological evidence that the Biblical conquest did not even happen as it was presented in the Bible, thus further undermining confidence in the devine providence of the said Biblical passage. Russia 'plays the long game' amid Ukraine fatigue
Ukraine has the โodds stacked against it,โ while Russia is โplaying the long game,โ retired Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell told UK media.
Ukraine has failed to make any significant gains on the battlefront, and the advantage of the Russian Armed Forces on the battlefield is evident, Bell underscored.
โThey [Ukraine] don't have an air force. They don't have air power. They're not a member of NATO. They have a lot of issues stacked against them,โ he said, adding that the flow of aid from Western patrons has slowed to โa trickle.โ
