There are three definitions of the "promised land" in the Hebrew Bible. At a conference attended by members of the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament), a certain Rabbi Sharbaf refers to a promise made in Genesis by God to Abraham where God assigns all the land from the Nile to the Euphrates to Abraham's descendants. The Rabbi obviously believes that this promise was limited to members of Judaic religious sects who are descendants of Abraham's grandson, Jacob. But no one can offer documented proof of descent from Abraham. Moreover, in Genesis no mention is made of a son's name or even of a religion, indicating that this promised applies to all of Abraham's descendants. This would include not only the descendants of Sarah's son, Isaac (the Hebrews of Israel and the Edomites who inhabited the Negev), but also Hagar's son Ishmael (the present-day Arabs), and Abraham's concubine Keturah's six sons (in biblical times, the inhabitants of the Sinai and the desert areas of Jordan and northwestern Saudi Arabia). This would indicate that the land was given not only to believers in one sect or another of Judaism, but to all descendants of Abraham, no matter what religion they might have.

There are also other Biblical definitions of the promised land that can be found in the Hebrew Bible. In Exodus, the promised land is described as extending from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean and from the desert to the River Euphrates (Exodus 23:20-33) and where the followers of Moses are commanded by the God of Moses the kill the inhabitants of these lands with no mercy and to take their property, something which Mr. Netanyahu's government is today trying its best to do. In Numbers 34: 1-12, however, boundaries are given which describe a much smaller state that would include modern day Israel, minus the Negev and the Golan Heights, but including a small part of the Sinai, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, almost all of Lebanon, and small areas of Syria. In Ezekial 47:3-23, roughly similar boundaries are given. with the main difference being that the boundaries of Ezekial include part of the Golan Heights. Ezekial, though, offers a radically different view of whom the promised land is given to. Verses 21-23 state the following:

21 So shall you divide this land according to the tribes of Israel.
22 And it shall come to pass, that you shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you and to the strangers that sojourn among you, who shall beget children among you; and they shall be unto you as the home-born among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
23 And it shall come to pass, that in whatever tribe the strangers sojourn, there shall you give him his inheritance, for so says the Lord GOD.

So who are the strangers? They are not defined. Being undefined, isn't it possible to interpret this passage as referring to all human beings, no matter what race or religion or language?

🔹In #Kherson Direction, the AFU's attempts to expand its zone of control and the Russian army's desire to levelling these attempts are unchanged. Already the overseas New York Times recognises that holding the foothold in #Krynki is a "suicide mission". Nevertheless, part of #Krynki will also remain behind the enemy. From there, the AFU are trying to attack our positions in the forest from the ruins of the village. In #Tyaginka ours struck an ammunition depot, and hit nine boats on the #Dnieper.

🔹In #Zaporozhye Direction, our forces took new positions to the north of #Verbovoye. Combat work to regain the positions abandoned in the summer is methodically continuing. From the field, they report on the powerful work of artillery on the retreating AFU forces and their serious losses. Unfortunately, there are also significant losses in the ranks of our army.

🔹In #SouthDonetsk Direction, our units are advancing in #Novomikhaylovka. We have gained a foothold on the northeastern outskirts and reached the warehouses in the south. Over the past few days, we have managed to make significant progress near #Pobeda and partially bypass the so called "Menagerie", a powerful fortified area of the AFU on the territory of a former animal farm. The cleansing of #Maryinka is nearing completion.

🔹In #Donetsk Direction, at the #Avdeyevka front, fighting continues in #Stepovoye, a part of our forces are bypassing the village from the north towards #Ocheretino. There are advances at the Coke Plant, we are waiting for news from the stormtroopers. On the southern flank, our troops continue to advance along Yasinovatsky Lane, connecting the Industrial Zone and the southern outskirts of #Avdeyevka. There were reports that our army hit a AFU officers' base in the #Avdeyevka direction with a Tornado-S MLRS missile with a range of 120 km.

🔹In #Bakhmut Direction, our units are advancing northwest of #Kleshcheyevka. The AFU are holding their positions firmly. Fierce fighting continues here, as well as west of the city and near #Bogdanovka. Our army is dealing massive blows to the positions of the AFU in Chasov Yar.

🔹The most active battles are now unfolding in the #SouthDonetsk direction, where the RF Armed Forces have managed to approach the outskirts of the #Pobeda settlement and partially bypass the #Zverinets fortification. In the area of #Novomikhaylovka, units of the 68th Army Corps are advancing on the southeastern outskirts of the settlement.

🔹In the #Kupyansk sector, the RF Armed Forces are advancing in the area of #Sinkovka, but the exact configuration of the front is unknown. In the #Soledar direction, assaults continue near #Bogdanovka and #Kleshcheyevka, but there are no significant changes.

🔹In the #Avdeyevka sector, Russian units are fighting along the railway near #Stepovoye (⚠️#Petrovskoye on Rybar maps), as well as on the approaches south of #Novokalinovo. On the northern flank, fierce fighting continues near the Yasinovatskaya industrial zone.

🇺🇦😭 Nobody wants to talk about Ukraine anymore.

The Spectator admits that no one cares about Ukraine anymore and that by continuing to provide weapons and financial support, the West is killing it.

“At the moment, few topics cause more rejection than Ukraine. I sensed in our collective turn to the Middle East this fall a strange undertone of joy that we could now immerse ourselves in a different story. Ukraine suddenly seemed like yesterday's news of the second plan.”

🔻At the beginning, the story was filled with exciting dramatic events. But Ukraine's counteroffensive last summer was simply a failure. For several months in a row, every centimeter of liberated territory was gained at the cost of enormous losses. The battle lines have hardly budged for several months, and now the visual picture of the conflict resembles the meat grinder of the Western Front of the First World War;

🔻The average age of the Ukrainian army is now 43 years. The young men are running out, not because they don't want to serve, but because they are dead. Ukrainian women are sent to the front line. The Russian public did not rebel. Russian GDP has grown since last year. The ruble began to rise against the dollar. Western sanctions have failed;

🔻No matter how much ammunition the US and NATO deliver to Zelensky, we will not provide him with soldiers. I say this with a heavy heart: if a negotiated settlement ceding captured territory to Putin looks inevitable, perhaps it is time to call on the Zelensky government to begin negotiations to bring this dismal war to its depressing conclusion. Prolonging the protracted stalemate only leads to an increase in the number of victims and the pointless destruction of Ukrainian homes and infrastructure;

🔻Sitting back and giving weapons so that they continue to fight until the last Ukrainian, only for the country to end up where we always knew it would end up, is not just immoral, it is murder.
